  1. I think that's the root of the debate.... Jim
  2. That great! Just run collectors off if they don't want to "join the club" and condon questionable and possibly unethical tactics in this hobby. Really great! I on the otherhand would like to see this hobby grow, not shrink due to collector and dealer greed.... So screw personal responsibility even if you suspect pressing? What pray tell are you going to tell the potential buyer if he asks if the book's pressed? So if I buy that trimmed blue labeled Batman #11, it's OK to sell to another unsuspecting buyer even though I know it's trimmed, all because CGC missed it? Trying to cut your losses by using CGC as an excuse for ignorance lumps those sellers with the worst in this hobby. "It is what it is" indeed.... Jim
  3. What there to understand? The pressed 9.4 evidently wasn't a 9.4 before being pressed......so they aren't identical. Overstating your case is sure to add more crediblity to your point of view.... Ethical behavior has to start somewhere.... An assumption you can prove nor disprove. Regardless, with this line of thinking, I guess you might as well start color touching some of your high end comics as a fair number out there have already been painted. This is the type attitude that's really starting to disenchant me in regards to this hobby..... Jim Edited to clarify first response.....
  4. Bull.....obviously, CGC and dealers don't see it this way based on the number of higher resubmits that have been revealed recently.... Jim
  5. Agreed. There's little incentive for pressing books for the raw market..... Jim
  6. And I know I'm replying to myself.... But got to give a shout out Kudo to Rickdogg! Great CGC comics with nuke proof packaging that's the mark of a true professional! Jim
  7. Nice haul! I'm curious to see if this repricing structure is here to stay. The premature suspension of the sale by Chuck was odd and makes me wonder whether he's rethinking his pricing.... Hope not because I got my eye on some CGC comics myself once the sale goes back on..... Jim
  8. Well I can think of two reasons: The book isn't really in demand. The book is still easily found in high grade in spite of the copies taken out of circulation. It was a MH2 book so there could be thousands of nice copies out there. If they were unloaded in mass locally? Sure there'd be an impact. If they were sold individually on eBay by a single seller though, it would start getting lower prices as the supply became evident to bidders. Jim
  9. It was part of the Mile High 2 warehouse find. I saw someone auctioning a copy with one of the MH2 certificates sometime last year. Okay, there's the answer, and I stand corrected, sort of. 49 will not be as common as 48, but primarily because 48 is really really unbelievably common. Too bad for all the suckers who paid big bucks for that one. But I still maintain that 49's not scarce in high grade. No post-1964 Marvel is. But if #48 was a MH2, then wouldn't #49 also be? I understood (maybe incorrectly) that oldest issue on......the collection pretty much had consecutive copies of every issue up. Unless of course FF #49 sold out on the newsstand and no remainder copies were left. I find this highly unlikely though..... Jim
  10. You got them already? Yep.....I was shocked. Especially considering the time the last one took. Jim How was the grading? I think you were off a bit...... Undergraded of course! Those are some of nicest DCs SA Giants I've seen in quite some time. Also, the RK was the best I've ever come across...... Jim but my copies are better! I bet, but you can keep them......I'm quite satisfied with these.... Thanks! Jim

  13. Major kudos to Greggy for some of his sweet sweet DCs and also some Marvel 25 cent Giants. And a belated kudo to DrBanner who always comes through with some great comics...... Jim
  14. I agree with you here Ian. The price is absurdly excessive. Jim
  15. What's his interest rate? Jim That's the brilliant part....guy would rather have me pay in July than receive a PAYPAL payment now and have to eat the fees! That's fine with me! Probably needs time to set up the off-shore account...... Jim
  16. Kudos to Joanna for hanging out here and keeping us boys in line.... Jim
  17. I don't really care about the whole Ian/Metro feud or even someone completing the damn collection anymore....kind of sick of hearing about it constantly...... Jim
  18. Banner came through yet again with some great comics! One of the best sellers on this Forum in my opinion.... Jim
