  1. It may come as no surprise that my favorite Golden Age GGA artist is Klaus Nordling because of his wonderful work on Lady Luck. But I'm curious about the rest of you - who is your favorite "Good Girl" artist and why?
  2. A killer splash page from Blonde Phantom #16...
  3. Miss America opens another can of whoop-@ss in Blonde Phantom #13...
  4. New acquisition purchased from the family of the original owner. I think this is my favorite Tessie cover
  5. Lady Luck from the weekly Spirit Section, March 11, 1945...
  6. I'm not sure who the artist is, but I don't think it's DeCarlo. His style was a bit more animated and cartoon-y.
  7. Judo is especially challenging... (from Blonde Phantom #13)
  8. Splash page from Blonde Phantom #20... Come to mama...
  9. I was unaware that there even was a Golden Age Star Sapphire - very cool. Very cool indeed! I like this older costume so much better!
  10. Although this was the second issue of Miss America, it was the first issue in the new magazine format - which was specifically targeted toward teenage girls. I suspect Marvel felt there would be many first time readers, and thus a recap of Miss America's origin was in order. But that's just my hunch.
  11. A lovely splash page from Miss America #2... And a couple pages of fighting action...
  12. Miss America #2... I'm not sure whether the cover model lives up to my expectations of Miss America But I do like her satin jammies...
  13. Another page from Cave Girl #11. All men need lesson...
  14. Along with the ability to fly, Miss America was very talented with her fists. Her stories contained a lot of good ole fashioned butt-whoopin' I think Pauline Loth was the artist for all of Miss America's stories in her own comic/mag, but Miss America made several previous appearances in Marvel Mystery Comics and I'm not sure who drew those. Perhaps someone with more Marvel/Timely knowledge could enlighten us?
  15. Cave Girl #11 (#1) - a low grade copy, but a gorgeous cover... I love the way Cave Girl wraps her legs around her victims before killing them...
  16. Splash page from Miss America #4 (Volume 1)... A page of fighting action... Miss America is bound and gagged! Will she escape in time? Two more criminals are sent to fry in the electric chair! So...... what are you wearing this holiday season?
  17. My favorite Toni Gayle story appears in the very first issue of Young King Cole. Toni turns the tables on the villain by strangling him with her necklace until he passes out. Then she ties him up and hauls him in to the police...
  18. Arda Thorne. Nice book! I've always loved that cover. It's a shame that they had to edit the gun out of her hand in the Canadian edition.
  19. Okay, I admit the cover of Miss America #3 is not very dangerous or threatening. But as far as GGA goes, I kinda like it... There's two action-packed stories on the inside... Nothing says FEMDOM like a beautiful woman in tights beating a man to a pulp before sending him to the electric chair... And for those of you who want to dress like Miss America...
