The one high bidder alone shows these stats...
30-Day Summary Total bids:32 Items bid on:1 Bid activity (%) with this seller:100%
Hmmm, so someone created an account JUST to bid on this item. Could be legit...but smells like shill...

, not again...lol. On the flip side, maybe I'll sell some items...

Wow...that cover, in that condition, is fun to look at... Great book. GLWTS.

Finally watched it. It was good, but didn’t live up to all the hype. However, it being a bootleg version, and lower quality picture, probably didn’t help...

I was using the same logic for an AF15 and you can see where that got me !
15 minutes ago, www.alexgross.com said:in that case, you're in great shape. prices of af15 are significantly lower than they were last summer when it peaked. your comment seems to suggest prices have continued upwards but it hasn't been the case since the latest explosion last year.
You’re assuming said logic was applied last summer. Perhaps he applied said logic 5,10, 20yrs ago...hence the regret...

Thanks for your input and congrats on the book. I totally understand your stance regarding the buy price and, yeah, the whole "not recorded" thing is an obvious handicap with GPA (and the Fantucchios have been breaking records across the board, haven't they? What a stunning collection). I've started trying to manually track CLink sales data for a handful of keys I own or hope to own within the next year to make up for that gap in the GPA record-keeping. FF 48 9.4 is one of those on my short-list that I hope to acquire, so was just trying to get a feel for what would be a realistic buy price on a 9.4 and with the Fantucchio copy as well. Again, I totally understand playing your cards close to the chest and I'd ask that anyone else, if they know the hammer price, disregard my original question out of respect for Callaway. Thanks and congrats again!
No worries, and I appreciate the courtesy. I also struggled with assigning a value... The last couple 9.6’s went for almost $10k on clink, and the 9.4 up now is trending very strong considering it has 10days to go. Plus the pedigree...which is especially valuable for this key because it sets it apart from the, relatively speaking, abundant supply...
I also love being the caretaker of this book, and believe in its long-term potential...so I’m not overly motivated to sell. But I can’t keep them all, or can I?

Being the second owner, next to Fantucchio, I might have an idea.
However, being that I’m still the owner it’s probably in bad taste to advertise buy price... I can tell you at the time it was a GPA record (obviously not recorded)...
-
Maybe he sold? Making the need to pump disappear...

Not to hijack the thread and turn it into a FF52 discussion, but seems to be an awful lot of inventory out there (both graded and raw)...census shows 2700+ graded. Were the print runs for FF a lot higher in 1966 vs 1961?

Strange Tales 110 also breaks one of my rules for investment of key books. Dr Strange isn’t on the cover.
My other go to besides the cover app is that it’s got to be a good guy/girl hero. Sure there are great baddies on covers like FF5 or ASM14, but they never get stirred up and remain stale.
FF52, Tec359, ASM129, NM98, BA12 over FF48, IM55, NYX3
What do you mean by "stirred up"? Because villain first appearances def. see price fluctuations, to include movie hype... And I hate seeing Dr. Doom as your example...come on, he deserves better than that...

I told her that this is not the time to buy one because we're right smack dab in the movie hype. Usually the hype dies down after a while for a movie key, but I'm not sure about this one. Maybe she should get one now before it goes up anymore?
Had this same thought, but don't do it...it's just the hype creeping into your head.

I wouldn’t be surprised if, due to the GPA boost, some books at some grades get an artificial shot in the arm with future sales... In fact, I expect it...
-
Interesting, appears the high-mid to low-high grade range is starting to show some separation. Historically the’ve been clumped together...
-
Screw it, not going to force it, letting this one go by even though it kills me. No good deals on the books I want, even AFTER the 20%...ridiculous. I’d basically be giving the 20% to the seller.
-
Cripes I just got out sniped by someone who was obviously factoring in the discount as well, or they overpaid. Now I have to scramble...

My last Value submission took pretty much 3 months from received to shipped. I don't think it moved until 10 days before shipping so your time table for CGC (can't comment on CCS) seems in line with recent submissions. Hopefully you should see if get bumped to scheduled for grading within the week.
Thanks. I finally broke down and shot them an e-mail and to their credit they responded promptly. She said current value turn-around times are 12-13 weeks.

Wowzers, thanks for sharing. I was a little irritated this week because I JUST sold a ~$5K book, and then yesterday I get a coupon capping total fees on up to 5 sales, if in excess of $200, at $20. Doh...has anyone else received one of those, did I read it wrong? Seemed too good to be true...
-
I could have sworn I saw someone asking for an AF15 0.5 in the WTB thread recently, but can't find it now...maybe they edited their thread, or I just suck with the search function...

Bah, i forgot that one. That would easily be on my list. Man, talk about a movie that NEEDS and deserves a sequel!
Agreed, saw it in the movie theater. Ridiculous...ly good

I don't have the energy to contemplate greatest of all time right now, but I notice Dr. Strange doesn't get much love...I actually really enjoyed that movie. I'll admit Dormammu was just awful though.

That price also includes the ridiculous buyer premium, so take off about 20% from the $4,780 for a sense of the real market value of $3,825.
Not really...that's what someone was willing to pay to get the book. Only a fool wouldn't factor in HA's buyer premium...

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (May-2018)

If an infinity stone were placed on a tree branch, would it destroy the tree? If it fell on the ground, would it destroy the grass? That's, sort of, the equivalent of baby groot holding it... Is it activated upon contact with any/all organic life, period...?
