Quantity is the problem with FF #48. Per the census:

    9.8  35

    9.6  85

    9.4  112

    9.2  134

    9.0  177

This is a high number of copies in the 9.0 + range.  This is also before considering that there are 200 + copies in every grade from 4.0 - 8.0.

    Scarcity isn't really an issue.

For my money, high grade issues of Thor in the 145 - 165 range are the better prize due to rarity.

I get what you’re saying, but scarcity (aka supply) isn’t an issue for most of these SA books... Demand is the x-factor...

Hulk 181, albeit bronze, is a good example of demand driving prices of a book with heavy supply.

I hate to talk movies driving prices, but seems relevant to the topic. SS is already a beloved character to the initiated, if that same love spreads to the masses via the big screen, it should be a fun ride. And that’s not even considering Galactus (think IM55)...

I got this one back from cgc a couple weeks ago. Ccs pressed it. I put it up on eBay for about a week then ended the listing. Just think I’m gonna regret selling it as I really dig bronze dc horror. I had sold a mid grade copy to a buddy and regretted that sale too! This book seems to be going no where but up so I think I’ll just keep in my collection. The reason I had listed in the first place was because I just bought a house and need a new fridge. I wil just have to figure out another way lol

    Nice copy...those corners!

  3. Saw last night. First half dragged but second half finished strong. Audience clapped multiple times. While I didn’t clap, I’ll admit there was a certain scene with snope that invoked some goosebumps.

If you’re interested in an uninitiated perspective my girlfriend, who has never seen a Star Wars film, left feeling intrigued...and wants to watch from start to finish now. Of course the big question is...what order?!

  4. Hype machine is still churning...anxious for some real news.

"With speculation mounting that a deal was in the works, the Murdochs -- Rupert and his sons Lachlan and James -- sent a memo to employees late last week.

'We want to address the headlines about us possibly talking to other companies about a potential transaction,” the Murdochs said in the Dec. 7 email. “While we can’t comment on market speculation, we do want to address the impact we know this is having on all of you. Uncertainty always breeds unease. In every way, our focus is on our businesses and on the welfare of all our colleagues.'"

Puck from Alpha Flighthm.  Or does Fox own him?

One of the Watchers <--- this actually would be pretty cool.

But seriously, its Pip.  I don't think that was ever in doubt.

Here's an IGN article that came out yesterday to give argument to Thor's new weapon.  I still think it will be the War Axe JarnBjorn.  Which paves ways for the Peter Dinklage character being the blacksmith:idea:.

    Never in doubt, eh? :baiting:

I'm sorry bud.  I've been on lookout for this book in mid grade for over a year, that c-link buy I did in 1.5 was borne of desperation practically.  Now the 1.5 is an 'extra' I'll sell for what I paid if lucky.

Funny thing is, when board first changed over to new format someone posted a FF 4 in (pretty sure) 5.0 for 1000 and I got lucky then too and posted "take" right away despite the new board format that I really didn't like, but failed to follow up with quick PM.  Then the thread got disappeared and never saw the book posted again.  I really hated the new board format for a bit (even though the new boards had nothing to do with my missed book).

C'est la vie... No ill will at all though, glad it went to a deserving home and helped fulfill a run...great eye appeal for a 3.5! (thumbsu
