    Resurrecting an old thread because I’ve had a couple surprises come back from CGC as of late. One cover detached and spine split during grading (low grade), and another mid-grade that was structurally great coming back with detached cover (not pressed, graded only). Both very recent...and other boardies have mentioned similar situations as of late via PMs (especially the detached cover). This isn’t meant to be a “bash CGC” thread at all, but if by chance there’s a trend occurring...report any instances here and maybe it can be identified, or not.

    Yea I got screwed on others too, so there’s two sides to that coin... I even sent in a book that’s coming back detached and complete spine split. Neither were the case before I sent it in (was one staple attached and partial spine split), and CGC’s response is there’s nothing they can (aka will) do for me. I even offered pictures, they don’t care. I understand covers sometimes get detached through the process, believe that’s a known risk with certain beat books, but to rip the cover in half? Never heard anyone have that happen before...someone please chime in if this has happened to them. The odd thing is the notes indicate “moderate” spine stress lol, but label says split. Interested to see this when I get the book back in-hand...

    Because he’s their hook into an underwater world, he’s awesome and want him, they have the $$ to do it, and the track record to motivate other companies to partner with them because they have the Midas touch. But your argument has merit too... It’s a coin toss...

    Most anticipated character yet to be seen in marvel’s war chest (assuming they hammered out the kinks surrounding him). And I can’t help but think they will make a concerted effort to destroy aquaman’s adaptation...they will have to because there WILL be comparisons.

    Blue bolt is about a year before the startling if I recall correctly. You can’t deny the resemblance...the teeth, lips, hair, beard, facial structure, colors, etc... Cole was the man... Really like how seamless the startling uses the tombstone as a word bubble... I’m going to stop now before I talk myself into a purchase lol...

    Came back.....0.5 OW/W lol, so CGC is standing by this one. I sent it back in the case, I know that's not supposed to be a factor but....one does wonder.
