  1. Assume back cover pristine. Treat as a non-variable with this assessment request.
  2. Need some help with this one guys. Want to make sure I'm being honest with myself... Please let me know what you think of grade, pre/post press. Sorry front cover only...
  3. Oh wow, great info! If anyone's curious, this link shows the effective-by dates for sales tax by state.
  4. Depends on the value of your books. If you have one $3k book then the store pays for itself with that sale alone... Check out the benefits and do the math (believe overall final value fees are reduced from 10% to around 9%, but the biggie is final value fees are capped at $250 vs $750 with store). Regarding selling multiples...I would spread them out and avoid having multiples up at the same time (creating competition for yourself). As far as which to list first...? Whichever one(s) will set a better baseline for your follow-on sales is the ones you should sell up front...as in, better eye appeal. Don’t want to create a bad comp and THEN sell another one.
  5. Heads up. Typo on the voodoo issue #, it’s 17 not 11. GLWS.
  6. It was an auction that I used a snipe tool to win, so not sure...but it didn’t show until the very last step of checking out. I’m in Virginia for what it’s worth.
  7. Just got hit with sales tax for the first time on ebay (that I’ve noticed anyways). $36. Ouch! Someone please save me some research. Is this what I will experience from now on for every transaction (can’t remember if the seller’s location is a factor as well)?
  8. My jaw dropped. Just so we all know what we’re talking about...
  9. I don’t really care, and I understand this would deviate from the purposefully rigid signature series protocol. Playing devil’s advocate more than anything... To continue pulling that thread, if a silver were to be sent in without signatures...would it qualify as a silver? Are sigs a prerequisite? To me, if it’s not signed...it’s a proof (or something to that effect)...and is NOT a true silver. Same for gold with sigs/sketches. These particular items are tougher than usual, and I’m grateful CGC grades them at all to be honest...
  10. I’ve had a related thought before... By CGC verifying silvers and golds as authentic copies, they are consequently verifying the signature is authentic. Why not a signature series? CGC can’t stand by the book being a silver/gold without standing by the signature being real...they are one in the same.
  11. If you bought some new without masks, perhaps someone (most likely a kid) took all the masks from the ones you bought, resulting in you buying incomplete books from the newsstand?
  12. Man I went to so many antique malls and flea markets today in a beach town (on vacation) and struck out. I went to one local comic shop and picked this up. Not sure how well I did (book is a rag) but it was one of those “I’m not going home empty handed” moments. Hard to go wrong at $25 with how this books been acting though...
  13. Just watched the video. In a nutshell, according to chuck, they’re big and offer a lot of stuff/variety...which creates a ton of overhead, which results in higher prices.
  14. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to explain how an offer is derived (mine are always based off logic) so they know where I’m coming from... This can be done without saying the other person’s price is “wrong.” Surprised to see so many people here find that offensive? I call it transparency... As a seller I gave a great deal to someone once because of their story, and a time came when I was on the other end buying/trading from them...and they haggled/milked me for every penny. I couldn’t believe it...so much for what goes around comes around. Ever since then I’ve vowed not to fall for the sentimental pitch...
  15. Wow! Usually that phase is much quicker...
  16. +1 on the new “status” system. Awful. I’m blind until the very end. If it’s actually “scheduled”, then tell me what day it’s scheduled for...
  17. I’ve seen other dealers doing this on eBay too. Baffles me...can someone help explain the logic to me?
  18. There’s room for improvement, that’s for sure. And they’ve always seemed to be a company that quietly listens to their clientele, but without addressing them directly...rolls out independently derived solutions. Let’s hope something is in the works...
  19. Same thing happened to me, but I didn’t have screenshot. Took about 10 calls to straighten out...
  20. $143 of ebucks received . I fought hard for that 15% deal that I had a problem with, and posted about, earlier. Ended up getting it...
