I don’t buy books with tape. They’re simply a hard stop for me. A mental barrier I can’t get past. Sometimes it puts me in a real pinch with scarce books, and I find myself wishing it didn’t bother me. So, obviously there are many who can cope. What are your thoughts? Did you never care? Did you hit a wall like me where, as your tastes matured and you transitioned into golden age, you simply had to accept tape in order to acquire some of your target books? Feel free to discuss other defects you struggled with, and softened on, over the years as well... Anddddd...go...

Done this on the road many a time, but never with a mayo jar. Water bottles have a very small margin for error, Gatorade is a little better...mayo would be great, but who the heck carries a mayo jar around (outside of Blob's dad).

Different buyers have different preferences and turn-offs. Some of the most notable detractors for universal labels that some buyers will simply not buy (or at least not pay FMV for) are rust, tape, water damage, serious fading, writing on cover, marvel chipping, etc.... It's important to note that not everyone falls on their sword for the defects I noted, but some selectively do...and that can impact price, but not necessarily. Best answer I have for an unanswerable question...

The other studios sure seem to be figuring things out lately, each with their own style. Was only a matter of time I suppose. Some cross-pollination may be contributing as well.

Disclaimer, I don't know anything about SD1. However, google image produced various colors of the 3D portion of the title. The one showing in the lot you bought is blue, google image shows one with yellow, and another with white. Perhaps all four copies have different colors?

I'm guessing no. I don't think this is a FF48/49/50 situation, where 48 caught fire, then 49, and lastly 50. The draw for IH180 is Wolvie's first true appearance imo, and collateral gains will end there...
