  1. Excellent information. Where is the best place to get the HP 8300? New or used? Thanks, Paul~
  2. I was lucky enough to meet Bernie at a Heroes Con sometime in the 90s and again at Dragon Con about a year or two later. He was a warm, personable guy who gave you all the time in the world. I have some pictures of Bernie, me and author Nancy Collins somewhere and we are all smiling and laughing. If I can find them, I'll post. My condolences to the Wrightson family. May you have peace at this tough time. Paul~

  12. I just took a look at this issue on this site: http://readcomiconline.to/Comic/G-I-Combat-1952/Issue-172?id=35014#32 Very cool. Thanks again to all who gave suggestions/ideas. Paul~
  13. That's it! Man, that last panel still sticks in my head 45 years later. Really appreciate you going the extra mile. Paul~
  14. Thanks for the tips. I don't recognize the cover to Weird War Tales #9, but it does have Vikings and a burning village in the background. Plus, it was 45 years ago. I'll post again when I get a copy to confirm the story. Much appreciated. Paul~
  15. I don't have much to go on. I recall the story was a short one; maybe in Star Spangled War Stories or some other War Comic from the early 1970s; where a group of vikings pillage a town, entire the castle (or maybe it was a church) and once inside they realize that the black death or plague is inside and they are all dead. Does that ring a bell for anyone? If this is in the wrong place, my apologies in advance. Paul~
  16. Picked up Amazing Adventures #27 (CGC 9.4) from Chuck's latest thread. Book was exactly as shown in the pics and I really appreciated the over-sized box he sent it in as the USPS really goes out of their way to abuse stuff here in the mountains of North Carolina. Will definitely buy from again. Many thanks! Paul~
  17. Troy, Thanks for helping me out on the Astonishing Tales project. Hope to deal with you again in the future. Paul~
  18. It was suggested I start one of these as I'm new to the board.
  19. I must be in the right place because I immediately appreciated the PVC rules, listed again below (riffing on Fight Club which was a great movie BTW) and the avatar photo of Ron Jeremy on the very first posting from 2004: #1 - The first rule of Price Variant Club is, you do not talk about Price Variant Club. #2 - The second rule of Price Variant Club is, you DO NOT talk about Price Variant Club. #3 - If someone says that's one of the last five I need and pleads, you let him have it. #4 - Nobody ends auctions early. #5 - No flaming other members of Price Variant Club because they got the Ringo Kid 28 and you didn't. #6 - Do not alert members of Price Variant Club for hidden variants. Let them find their own damn variants. #7 - 35 cent variant collectors are insane. #8 - If you found a variant through Price Variant Club, you have to find another one. I only recently joined the Collector's Society and started submitting books for certification. At this point, I'm working on a high grade Astonishing Tales featuring Deathlok run. So, to the point of this post. One of the books I have in my small collection is an Amazing Adventures #36, 30 cent price variant, that I bought at some point in the past. It is in a universal CGC holder, but with the older style header with the grade in the center and in small font. Grade is 9.2 which looking at the census there are only 2 higher in 9.4. Anyone interested in this particular item? Anyone willing to trade towards one of the Astonishing Tales variant books? Reading this post, it looks like a lot of babble, but first posts are always the toughest so they say so go easy on me. Thanks, Paul~
