  1. Just in, my first "romance" book and quickly rising to top of my favs from entire collection!! Football, GGA and L.B. Cole. Grades not too bad either?
  2. Starting to regret selling my copy of this book. Compare cover to this famous picture of Rita Hayworth by Bob Landry from the 1941 cover of Life Magazine. What a great cover. I must have one. Ken Don't recall seeing one before. I think those Dottys are pretty tough. A lot of the Dottie artwork is by Archie artist Al Hartley. I never was a fan of his Patsy Walker and Atlas work and his Archie work gets mixed responses from Archie fans but in the 1940's I thought his stuff was pretty nice! He did the Ernie books as well. I really like Al Hartley's work - especially on the Atlas titles Meet Miss Bliss and Della Vision. These comics are rarer than hen's teeth.
  3. Luck, your going to love this too. In researching Blonde Bomber a bit more, discovered she was created by Barbara Hall, who also created Girl Commandos. This is from Speed Comics #25 (I do not own it)
  4. My awesome score of the week Inside first page stamp Raymond Miller - anyone know if Raymond was anybody in the Golden Age of comics industry, or just Joe reader?
  5. I've been a busy collector Each copy has its "issues" - #30 is repro cover with interior. I can just sit and stare at 'em.
  6. Another nice BIke book score Edowens. Your putting together a heck of a collection.
  7. Forgot to mention, for those into this kind of stuff. Google Bob Landry photograph from the 1941 cover of Life Magazine featuring Rita Hayworth. Looks a lot like our Hep Cutie?
  8. PM me. I'm actually going to sell a GD 2.0 of Dotty #36.
  9. National Comics #36. Going to part with my copy help to support purchase of a small lot of Caps. Nazi spy chief Fraulein Thura As a bonus, issue contains Marion Wells, a member of the The Murderous Three
  10. Stump Lady Luck Quiz. Probably technically not a "superheroine" but clearly she feels capable to take one on as one shot villainess, and she does seem to have a superlike custom.
  11. Thinking this might fit on this thread, thought it would be fun to list all the teen humor banner slogans. Jeanie = Queen of Teens Junie = Tops in Teenage Fun Kathy = America's Most Lovable Teenager
  12. Picked up a bunch of this genre on a lot buy on the bay. Hope you don't mind is I share a bulk sampling.
  13. My goodness, that's some nice Frazetta.
  14. Ok, I've got a few. First could be a "6.0" based on the "new" grading scale.
  15. Way nice score on the Tec 16 - now that you have one perhaps I'll stand a chance in the next auction appearance?
  16. So nice! Just 7.5? I've been drooling over that book for awhile but never seem to hit the mark as the high bidder.
  17. I was referencing this book on a thread I started in regard to scarcity and Gerber Index. By my crazy math I figure there might be around 40 copies which would exist in 6.5 grader or higher. Whole thing prompted me to send my copy in to CGC, where it sits today waiting for its slabation. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=9223848&fpart=1
  18. There you go Ed. I've got one "hidden" motorcycle cover I'm eying on the bay right now. In the meanwhile, here is a recent purchase. Looks to have had some restoration work on staples, spine but nice bike cover - inside is real patriotic with Liberty Belle and Star-Spangled Kid and Stripesy.
  19. Liberty Belle fightin' the axis - a bonus inside my motorcycle cover Star Spangled Comics #46
  20. As an aside, Sahle did one of my fav GGA covers. This is the best one I've been able to find (and afford).
