Nah, you nailed the sarc alright, it just also prompted me! Joe was a great guy and I’m happy to have a part in keeping his legacy out there in the hobby’s eyes.

Well …you are doing a heck of a job . Really. And bringing all sorts of old time boardies out of the woodwork, to boot.

I went “backwards” with learning about Sinnott. First “big” signed book I ever bought was FF5, signed by him. To this day, I still think the best FF art is Sinnott inks on Kirby pencils. It was only later I started reading his Atlas stuff.

Okay, one more for tonight then I will wrap up the planned books tomorrow night with the various Marines titles still to come.

I will take one more hard look at my keepers before closing the thread, and I might have a small addendum the following night after keeper review, plus a couple other of Joe’s signed file books that are not as high-grade and likely came to him as back issues, not as Atlas office newsstand comps. But two of those are PCH books

    Marines you say???

    Amazing Spider-Man, Pocket 81443

Looks pretty good at first glance, but like an earlier book this one has been smacked HARD with something on the bottom edge.
There were three in this batch, all with similar problems, this is the second-worst.

Compared to the rare Temeraire issues, the "Italia Liberata" (which was actually part of a series of neo-nationalist antologic magazines) is relatively not difficult to find, in case you'll want one. No comics, these were magazines with articles and photos.
The Boccasile covers were originally RSI posters.

@gunsmokin saw my post and reached out via PM and in short I am now a VERY happy camper.

Brain Wave by Poul Anderson   Ballantine No. 80  1st Edition $25

A gorgeous copy of this 1st edition with wraparound Powers cover art

Looks new, unread, square tight and glossy with virtually no reading/handling wear. Tiny bend to rear lower left is about it. Tough to beat.

Children of the Atom, Gnome Press, 1953, stated first edition.
By Wilmar Shiras. Supposedly this novel is the source for much of Lee's take on the Uncanny X-Men.
Read it quite a few years back, and I agree.

Book is quite nice except for a bumped lower LH BC, and the usual pencil bookseller price inside the FC.
Jacket has a small piece out RH FC, see the pix, and a corner off upper RH BC. Jacket is otherwise sharp with bright colors, NOT price clipped.

I want $50 for this one too,  FIRM.  Pix to follow from the phone.

    Take

Let's list a couple science fiction classics.

Mutant, Gnome Press, 1953, stated first edition. Novelization of five earlier short stories, authored by "Lewis Padgett"
pen name used by Henry Kuttner, sometimes with his wife, C. L. Moore. Most of the sources I looked at say this is
    by Kuttner acting solo.

Everybody hates those damned bald-headed mutants!  Sound familiar?

Book is very nice indeed, only a pencil price inside the FC with a couple small spots of soiling. The balance of the book is
clean and untouched. Jacket is nice, price is NOT clipped, but there's a small tear lower FC, and two small tears upper BC.
I'll be uploading plenty of pictures from my phone shortly.

    Asking $50, FIRM
