  1. Delays like that for reasons completely out of your hands just suck. But, I suppose we can wait 7 more days .... ! On a completely off-topic side note, I absolutely LOVED the final issue of Dreaming Eagles. Some great stuff coming from Aftershock, no doubt.
  2. Yup...spent $18 in shipping but at least I got in on this one. Wave 1: 2 color variants Wave 2: 2 Sets
  3. Man, what a fiasco. Lost out on Artist Edition Set in Wave 1 as the site slowed down enough that by the time I completed checkout it had sold out, but did manage to snag a set in Wave 2. Crazy how fast that site got bogged down,
  4. Dreaming Eagles and B.E.K. are two of my favorite titles right now. I know that DE is a mini that is soon to conclude, but as a history teacher and WWII buff that absolutely idolizes the Tuskegee Airmen, that was a fantastic series to produce. Keep up the good work, Joe! Aftershock's titles are certainly on a lot more radars now!
  5. I picked up a copy of that Spider-Man #2 Captain America 75th Anniversary Variant Cover...it was just to stunning to pass up. Grabbed one at Midtown for $72 before they sold out. Most I have ever spent on a non-slabbed, non-signed variant but...it's JSC...and it's a beauty. And I'll def be looking to either get it signed and slabbed later this summer, or pick up a signed copy directly from his store when he posts it.
  6. Loved issue #5, but man, the wait until #6...June?!!?
  7. I'm in my 2nd year in the hobby, but came to appreciate very early the art of JSC. Here are a few of the pieces in my collection: And some of the signed books from the JSC Store: As I think others have stated previously, the books coming from the JSC Store are BEAUTIFUL. Not just the sigs, but the condition of the books. Thus far, all have been simply stunning in their condition on arrival and I look forward to continuing to add more! Next on my list, some of those Star Wars covers!
  8. My Superman Pencil variant looks beautiful. No noticeable scuffs or dents...have we turned a corner with these?
  9. Wow. Have pre-ordered numerous exclusive variants from them. Have always received them in a timely fashion and packaged very well. Certainly not trying to dispute or discredit any of the claims being made in this thread, as I have no reason to believe you guys are making these things up. I'm just surprised at how poorly your situations appear to have been handled by them.
  10. That is freakin' AWESOME! I own two 9.8s of that signed variant and am extremely envious of that 9.9 ... did it grade that way for you or was it a purchase?
  11. Thx for the welcome, everyone. Really enjoying the depth of topics I've found so far on this board. I have managed to put together an entire first-run of the series thus far...now I just need to decide if I want to pony-up and add a second stash! But before I do any of that I'm turning my attention to one of those signed #1 Ottley variants.
  12. Fairly new to the world of comics, and I remember seeing some of the earlier issues last fall and not being interested in this book AT ALL. Which, if you knew I was a middle school social studies teacher you'd probably be very surprised to know. Not even sure why I picked up #1 a month ago, but I did. Needless to say, I absolutely LOVE this series. To say it has so much potential to go in so many different directions would be a gross understatement. From a purely historical standpoint there is so much they can do, and I'm wondering what kind of tales they'll spin around their eventual arrival at the Great Falls of the Missouri. That was such a treacherous part of the journey...I can only imagine how that will be compounded by the presence of who-knows-what kinds of creatures!
