Got a nice surprise via e-mail. Pre-ordered this on 2/23 through Unknown Comics @ $125, and in the ensuing weeks as the price adjustments were announced I fully expected to get an e-mail from them either stating I owed another $125 or that they were not going to be allocated what they had sold and that my order was being canceled. I fully expected, one way or another, that I was NOT getting that box at the pre-order price. A feeling that was only reinforced as my order status has sat in the "unfilled" stage ever since. Until today....Got an e-mail stating the box has shipped! If this indeed does come through, I have nothing but kudos for Unknown Comic Books. They, like a lot of online retailers, posted these for pre-sale immediately. And they were fully within their rights to come back to me and ask for the difference once the $250 price correction was announced. But they never did and instead honored the original purchase price. Now the big question for me...do I break it open hoping for a Grail or do I sell. Hard to beat a flip at nearly $400, unless, of course, a Negan is in there.

BABYTEETH by Donny Cates and Aftershock comics
IndyKMB replied to the authority's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Eagerly anticipated this one and it certainly did not disappoint. Loved the homages to comic book fans throughout! And from what I've heard ... issue #2 is phenomenal! -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

AWESOME. You win the internet for today -
BIG fan of CB, and was really looking forward to this issue ... and it certainly did not disappoint! Even better, he will be appearing locally on the 20th doing a signing with John Tyler Christopher. Needless to say I'll have some books to bring along with me to that appearance, as CBCS and hopefully CGC will have witnesses on-site.

What an AMAZING issue. Just...wow. So incredibly well done on so many levels. Especially the last page. -

This. I'm barley hanging on right now with what's taken place the last couple of months through that store. This will be the first JSC release I'm laying off of in quite awhile. -
The comic(s) that made you bawl your eyes out

The last panels of Klaus were incredibly well done. I've never been moved to tears by a comic but this one had me damn near close to it. -

Really love that Cover B design...wish it was an option to just purchase that one. Last release, for the first time, I only purchased unsigned copies, and am definitely going this route again...and it might just be covers A and B. -
Congrats! at a quick glance, how does it look? Grade-able?? Either way these foils are awesome, and this on really stands out with the more colorful background.

NOW VENOM #1 Gabriele Dell’Otto Color B&W Secret Variants
IndyKMB replied to nixnix's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
BEAUTY. Congrats on that 9.8! -
Good luck. I know you know that's a tough get, so that should have a premium for sure if you can land one. I think the only 9.8 I wound up with from last year's foils was Wonder Woman (currently en rote to CGC). Superman is a possibility as well. This SuperSons Foil is a beauty but the spine dings I'm seeing make me think a press won't help it much. It's not outrageous (I'm a tough critic, admittedly) but with the foil being so thin I always worry a press could do more harm than good.

Just received my ECCC Foil variant a couple of days ago. Makes a beautiful centerpiece to my SS stash as well!

New TUSKEGEE AIRMEN signing op Lt. Col. ALEXANDER JEFFERSON
IndyKMB replied to Rich_Henn's topic in The Signature Room
Would definitely be interested in this as well, Rich. Only thing better than one CGC SS slabbed book signed by Tuskegee Airmen is TWO CGC SS slabbed books signed by Tuskegee Airmen. Looking forward to seeing book options and pricing when available. -
Image Publishes $125 Blind Box For 25th Anniversary
IndyKMB replied to Jackhartmann's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
There were some pre-order Opps out there this morning. Unknown Comics had a very limited #, and I believe ComicXposure had them on sale at 15% off as well. Both sites mentioned limited allocations could mean cancellations, and both sold out very quickly. Not sure what qty they offered up. Also read on Major Spoilers that these drop in JULY, not May? -

Sad thing is, I typed that on my phone, noticed the error, edited it, and STILL screwed it up. -

That cover is ridiculous. I ordered a virgin set (sight unseen) from Comic Mint a couple of days ago, and just picked up a 2nd Set from Frankie's now that I've seen it. That will look fantastic slabbed...assuming they are packaged/shipped in an acceptable way! -

Did you request those candidates? or do they always send great copies? I obviously cannot speak for devald, but I have never requested 9.8 candidates and with the exception of ONE book (Thor) everything I have received from the JSC store has been 9.8-esque. And I've ordered nearly every signed book he's offered since early 2015. -
I'm relatively new to this game. In 2015 I ordered one of the J.Scott Campbell Black Cat statues from Sideshow. In January I then ordered one of the Alien Internecivus raptus statues, which I just received this week. It arrived with a $20 off code, which I then used to pre-order a K-2 statue. Some of these are just amazing!

Not sure how rare it is, but one of my favorite pieces is a copy of a Heroic Comics #29, dated March of 1945: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HEROIC-COMICS-29-REAL-LIFE-COMICS-20-/361426081979?hash=item5426ac58bb:g:VaMAAOSwQoFWQOax So cool holding a piece of history that is from a completely different time and era. Who knows, maybe the original owner of mine was a GI.

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
IndyKMB replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Good night, I cannot believe how those Batman Foils have BLOWN UP. Couple nights ago I could not find Batman, but did snag a WW, and Superman. Next day, those Batmans shoot up from $25 to $75, and it's been off to the races ever since. Guess I missed it by about 12 hours for a reasonable price -

This x10. I really enjoyed Rebels, and as a history teacher I cannot get enough of these kinds of titles. And if it truly is optioned for TV, even better!
