  1. How close are you to having all the books that John Byrne has drawn?
  2. A signature series book is graded in the same way as any other. If it is restored it would get a PLOD.
  3. What made you pick those particluar books? Are they your personal favorites?
  4. You couldn't make Hulk carry anything he didn't want to.
  5. total # of books that CGC graded equal to my grade: 18 18 out of 54 books right. Does this explain why your team is last in the grading contest?
  6. Doesn't look like a VF to me, check out the bottom right color breaking crease.
  7. I'm not surprised, the scan is awful.
  8. Overdue Kudos from me for the people I've dealt with directly on the boards, Dr. Banner, Scottish and the latest DARTHDIESEL. All are gentlemen and scholars, and also happen to send out top notch comic books. Thanks Guys. I have also dealt with many forumites on eBay, too many to name here, but all were smooth as silk transactions.
  9. Oh well...I took a shot. My $375 snipe was apparently short of whatever cosmic-spider-man bid. I shudder to even think about what his bid was. About $370 more than Invaders books normally go for.
  10. and I've been auctioning mine off at giveaway prices compared to what I paid for 'em
  11. Why do I foresee the new owner suddenly selling a single cover version of this one (and getting a single cover CGC 9.2 out of the deal as well)? That won't happen. Don't you understand man? This is a variant of a variant, therefore it is virtually priceless.
  12. what if I wanted 10 of your $5 dollar books? You seem to have so many! Why would you want 10?
  13. Ok, how about the color variations seen on many Silver Age books? Some have suggested there are 'variants' that exist, others believe it has something to do with the printing method used in those days. The most common example that comes to mind is FF #48 where some copies display a red cover and others are brown. Printing problem? If so, please explain.
  14. I am screwed I know it will get green label he signed on the right side edge front cover in metallic silver ink.. . Still it's a real nice copy. What effect does the Green label have on the potential other Green..... Think PLOD and you're in the right ballpark.
  15. just got back from my folks house and i picked up my "X" amount of copies of New Mutants 98 in NM/MT ready to be submitted to CGC for movie hype. Are you sure you want to waste those grading fees?
  16. I am looking at possibly buying at least the #1 issue in mid grade just as a keep sake. You will need a pretty penny to pick #1 up even in mid grade. Hulks first app is a little more than a 'keepsake' these days.
  17. But those "products" aren't in direct contact with the bagged/boaded comics. Usually there's around 3 or 4 backboards to prevent any bent/crease on the spine of the last comic in contact with the boards/newspapers/bubbles plastic. They don't have to be in contact with the comics to harm them. The fact that the bubble plastic and newspaper are in the same sealed environment (box) with the comics means that the gasses/acids they realease are trapped in there with your comic books. This will cause yellowing/tanning/deterioration of the pages and cover over time.
  18. either air bubble plastic or even wrapped pages of newspapers in homogenic volumes do the trick very well... Bubble plastic and newspaper both give off quite large (relatively) amounts of acid and toxins that can harm your comic books. I wouldn't advise using either as a long term storage solution.
  19. I put my spare mylars and full backs in the boxes.
