  1. Let’s bet one of your keys to see who’s closer to the death of physical media. You have it at a decade. I’ll take a decade and a day. Yeah, I watched The Price is Right. What do you know about that youngster!
  2. You could be right. It’s possible that mainstream releases may end in another 3 or 4 decades and go entirely digital. But there will always be that niche sector that prefers to truly own the film in a tangible way and so there may still be a market and thus manufacturers. Who knows.
  3. We’ve been streaming for over a decade and yet DVD’s are still being manufactured. Eventually that will end and it will only be 4K Blu-ray’s until that ends and we have 8k physical media. We will not see the end of physical media in our lifetime.
  4. I think he’s right. The MCU doesn’t need Spider-Man. They just don’t need the second (arguably third) most popular and recognizable comic book character on the planet. Marvels undisputed flagship character.
  5. Who’s cherry picking? I didn’t make an argument.
  6. Days of Future Past was better than 90% of all MCU films. Easily.
  7. Doesn’t look like Black Widow was a factor. They ended up pushing at least ten of their movies back. Maybe thinking more chains will be open as vaccinations are rolling now? Or maybe BW did affect it as they don’t want to share IMAX screens with it. All about maximizing profit.
  8. I’ve complained about the movies title a few times, looks like the screenwriter hated the title too. Some interesting stuff here. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2021/04/chris-terrio-justice-league-batman-v-superman
  9. I’ll say this, I’ll never rewatch Captain Marvel unless I have insomnia but I’ll watch CM2 with my daughters because it’s under different direction. Larson may actually be directed to emote. Maybe a few less smug smirks and actually portray some real emotion we can feel. I hope she knocks it out of the park. I have preferred my action heroes to be female since Aliens and Terminator 1-2. Those two ladies didn’t raise the bar, they set it.
  10. I read somewhere the prequel is not a zombie movie but instead shows the actor that plays the safecracker pulling some jobs before getting offered the Vegas gig. I mean I’ll still watch it. Also, the guy that plays the safecracker is the director of the prequel.
  11. I’m hoping this is a success for Netflix because Zack has said that not only is there room for expansion in this world but he has crazy plans. I think he has a sequel in mind. Here’s my prediction. Vegas is sealed off by shipping containers to contain the outbreak. The end of Army of the Dead will show a breach in the wall caused by whatever. There are explosions in the teaser so who knows. Then it spreads through Nevada and then the rest of the country. Boom, Army of the Dead 2.
  12. You’re right, certain Marvel keys are better investments than gold. I have invested in both. Meanwhile, DC owns the top spots for most valuable comics ever printed. And highest price ever paid.
  13. There aren’t any big movies coming out in the next month. What GvK has done is kick started the industries stock including AMC and reopened the 2nd largest theater chain. They just pumped one bag through the IV. Now it’s up to all the studios to drop their movies to keep those fluids up. There’s no denying what this lame monster movie did for the industry. (I only enjoyed the last 20 minutes). But it was primed and the timing was right.
  14. It should always be The X-Men. But if the woke decide to change it, whatever, my X-Men #1 doesn’t need films to raise its value. This is my last major Marvel key after selling my 8.5 Hulk 1 years ago. (Big mistake).
  15. I’ve never seen The Spirit as these boards tore it apart. The trailer didn’t seem interesting at all either. I’m thinking about checking it out at some point though.
  16. Godzilla vs Kong already saved it. Theater stocks rose as a direct result and the closed Regal Cinema chain (2nd largest in the US) finally opened to screen Godzilla. This is the first movie credited with the industries revival across the US. I thought that honor would go to Tenet but they were just a little too early. Like Black Widow is too late. Still going to enjoy BW on the couch when it hits iTunes. https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/05/investing/movie-theaters-godzilla-vs-kong/index.html https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2564758/one-more-theater-chain-is-having-a-monster-reopening-thanks-to-godzilla-vs-kong https://www.fool.com/investing/2021/04/06/did-godzilla-and-king-kong-just-save-amc-stock/
  17. I think Zack said he shot the scene anyway but couldn’t use it in the end. Hopefully he leaks it one day.
  18. On Independence Day, I saw it for the first time in my early twenties. I remember being torn on it then. Loving the destruction but absolutely hating the comedy elements or their attempts at such. I walked out of the theater liking the movie but I think I was just taken by the scale of the destruction on the big screen. Watched it again a decade later and definitely did not like it. I did watch the sequel and really hated that one. On Outbreak, again, watched in my early twenties and I remember liking it. I can’t remember what went down though. I will have to rewatch.
  19. Slightly disappointed that the new remaster of BvS wasn’t completely in that IMAX ratio. I thought it would be like JL all the way through. The movie jumps from widescreen to squared for certain scenes and then back to widescreen.
  20. Nope, it was actually Thanos and the Collector and the Punisher. In costume.
  21. I thought the pacing of Blade Runner 2049 was on point for a sci-fi noir and similar to the original. Very worthy follow-up. I’m not a franchise guy, I tend to watch just about anything. You should broaden your horizon and watch Sicario. It has Thanos, the Collector and the Punisher in it!
  22. I never said it wasn’t a dumb story. I said it was a better story than Godzilla VS Kong.
  23. You don’t like his movies? So it’s strictly Marvel, Transformers and Fast and Furious for you. That’s cool, not judging. If you fell asleep during Sicario, well it’s no wonder we can’t relate on movies.
