  1. I noticed there's whitening on the spine - not sure how this would influence the grade ~
  2. I know these aren't the best images, as I'm planning on buying this but these are the only ones the seller provided me with ~ All comments are very much appreciated :3
  3. Superman #4 vol 2 Static comics have unsurprisingly been going up too ~
  4. Since the news on Milestone Comics, I picked up this (not sure what to make of it in actuality)
  5. I always feel X-Men #133 to be a very UNDERAPPRECIATED cover
  6. Should be VERY interesting now Curious but did the platinum edition come in a sealed bag too?
  7. So would you agree there's a certain legitimacy in the claim that Static's first appearance is in Icon #1?
  8. Managed to take 9 of them off eBay for £52 the moment that Elba was announced
  9. That's why I said it was a preview, but the story was an original ~ Does the story being an original jeopardise the claim? I don't think so. Exactly! You're absolutely right - I just brought it up as that's a popular item to use in the first appearance vs. preview dynamic. Exactly!
  10. There's only one character potentially that could be such a thing, but I don't think Weasel would be the prime candidate or mine for that atter ~
  11. Well a month before Static #1 - interesting, as I didn't realise there was a preview and I have quite a few of these @Lazyboy: well, for example: Legion of Super-Heres #298 is a preview of Amethyst #1, and that is considered the first appearance of Amethyst ~ But yeah, this is the whole Action Comics #1 vs More Fun Comics #31 debate again ~
  12. Captain Marvel Jr #23: January 20, 1954 - fifth mention of Marvelman Jr. (Young Marvelman) in text form. The penultimate issue before the title was changed to The Young Marvelman, Captain Marvelman Jr. in issue #24 ~ Added notes: Very bright cover with a strip of sellotape to spine edge. This has made the rear cover 3/4 inch spine edge transparent.

  14. I thought I'd request another census update for a Marvelman/Miraclman type comic - so, I'm going for Captain Marvel Jr. #19 (UK Edition), which either as incorrect information or no information at all for that matter. The current layout of Captain Marvel Jr. #19 (of August 13, 2020): Issue Date: No Date Year: 1900 Publisher: L.Miller & Son Ltd Country: United Kingdom Key Comments: Marvelman Jr. (Young Marvelman), introduced in text page. Art Comments: None My proposed (updated) layout of Captain Marvel Jr. #19: Issue Date: 12/53 Year: 1953 Publisher: L.Miller & Son Ltd Country: United Kingdom Key Comments: First mention of Marvelman Jr. (Young Marvelman), introduced in text page. Reprints Captain Marvel Jr. #48 (4/47) Art Comments: Otto Binder and Sid Lazarus stories, Sid Lazarus art, Mac Raboy cover and art The issue is a majority reprint of Captain Marvel Jr. #48, in which most of these credits belong to Otto Binder, Sid Lazarus and Mac Raboy - all of which are confirmed in the CGC census for that very comic.
  15. Managed to pick this up: Marvelman #23, that's both signed and sketched by Mark Buckingham And my name is ironically - or, dare I say poetically - Nicholas
  16. Hey there ^_^ I know that these books haven't received much love on the census, quite possibly because they're rather rare, United Kingdom published, and not many actually know what to do with them. Though, I'd like to provide some information to update the census (which currently contains around 9-10 books from Marvelman, Young Marvelman and Marvelman Family). I hasten to add that much of this information as either been provided by Marvelman Indexer/Archivist Derek Wilson within Young Marvelman Classic vol 1 and 2; Marvelman Family's Finest and Marvelman Classic, Ewan Brownlow or myself. Marvelman Marvelman #25: Key Comments: 1st appearance of Marvelman. Art Comments: Mick Anglo stories, Mick Anglo art, Mick Anglo art and cover. Marvelman #65 Key Comments: Origin of Marvelman. 1st appearance of Guntag Barghelt. Art Comments: Mick Anglo stories, Mick Anglo art, Mick Anglo art and cover. Marvelman #102 Key Comments: 1st appearance of Kid Marvelman Art Comments: Mick Anglo stories, Don Lawrence art, Mick Anglo art and cover. Marvelman #370 Key Comments: Last issue. Johnny Galaxy appearance. Art Comments: José Beá art Marvelman Family Marvelman Family #1 Key Comments: 1st issue of the Marvelman Family title. Art Comments: Mick Anglo stories, Don Lawrence art, Mick Anglo art and cover. Young Marvelman Young Marvelman #37 (based on information from my copy of the book and Young Marvelman Classic vol 2) Key Comments: 1st Marvelman and Young Marvelman team-up. Jan Maxton appearance. Art Comments: Mick Anglo stories, James Bleach and George Parlett art, Mick Anglo and George Parlett art and cover. Young Marvelman #364 (plus issue date/year information) Issue Date: 8/62 Year: 1962 Key Comments: Johnny Galaxia appearance. Art Comments: Francisco Guinovart art (information provided by AusReprints)
  17. Managed to get this comic for £30 in total (including shipping) - I already have it in 9.8 SS, as well as various raw copies so I had to get this. Though, I hasten to add that this is the first Qualified comic that I've ever purchased
  18. The current layout of Captain Marvel Adventures #26 (of July 23, 2020): Key Comments: Chap. 5 Monster Society of Evil serial., Mr. Mind revealed as a worm (1st app.), Captain Marvel visits Seatle WA. Art Comments: Otto Binder and Al Liederman stories, C.C. Beck and Al Liederman art, C.C. Beck cover My proposed (updated) layout of Captain Marvel Adventures #26: Key Comments: 1st full appearance of Mr.Mind., Chapter. 5 of Monster Society of Evil story, and Captain Marvel visits Seattle WA. Art Comments: Otto Binder, Ray Tender, Al Liederman, and Otto Binder story, and C. C. Beck, Pete Costanza and Al Liederman art, and C. C. Beck cover and art. 1. Changing 'Mr. Mind revealed as a worm (1st app.)' to '1st full appearance of Mr.Mind', as it is the full appearance of the character, with Mr. Mind having voice cameos in Captain Marvel Adventures #22-25 - also, it lessens the confusion between #22-25 and #26). Captain Marvel Adventures #22, #23, #24 and #25 - First four cameo appearances of Mr.Mind (IMAGES) Captain Marvel Adventures #26 - 1st full appearance of Mr. Mind (IMAGE) 2. Changing 'Chap. 5 Monster Society of Evil serial' to 'Chapter. 5 of Monster Society of Evil story' to make it a bit more concise. 3. Changing to Captain Marvel visits Seattle WA, as current layout misspells 'Seattle' to 'Seatle' 4. Ray Tender and Otto Binder are added to 'stories' due to their ------script contributions to 'Captain Marvel and Sabotage in Seattle!' on Page 4 and 'Sharks Below' on Page 31 (name written), respectively. 5. Pete Costanza is added to 'art' due to his pencil and illustrations in 'Captain Marvel and the Plundering Giant!' on Page 19. 6. Acknowledging both C. C. Beck's art and cover contribution.
  19. Thanks :3 The census grade that you're referring to is Marvelman #370 - which is currently on eBay, but this is Young Marvelman #370
  20. Thanks, guys ^_^ A clean or a press wouldn't help then? ~
  21. Why thanks I shall be submitting that to CGC within the year
