  1. Hey there :3 Does anyone know of any key issues relating to Jakeem Thunder? The only one's I can think of are the following: Flash #134 - Cameo appearance JLA #26 - First full appearance JLA #30 - First cover featuring Jakeem (alongside side Scott, Spectre, Garrick, Batman and Wonder Woman) It's a bit precarious regarding him since he's not really had his own series ~ All comments are welcomed.
  2. I entirely get what you mean ^_^ I might get a few of them - but it's a bit tough to find Amethyst or Modred colour guides at the moment, it seems
  3. Yeah, I saw them - but those are way too overpriced, especially for such a recent series ~
  4. There was a lot I found: JSA #50 p.17 Color Guide Art - Jakeem's Genie Splash - 2003, but the seller stated: "This is a B&W STAT photo copy that a colorist painted over to create the published page. This is color art only, the original pencils and inks aren't on here." I'm a bit unsure as to what this is ~ Is this original art? Is this technically not classed as comic-art if it's photocopied? Or a bit like a color guide?
  5. That's awesome! Where did you get it from? And is it original art? All other comments are appreciated ^_^
  6. Hey there ^_^ Does anyone know where there's art relating to DC's Amethyst or Marvel's Modred the Mystic - perhaps even JLA #26 (1997) or Green Lantern #148 (1982), for that matter? All comments are welcomed ~
  7. I was wondering what grade do you think this is? Would this benefit from a press or a clean? All comments are welcomed! Thank you ^_^
  8. I was curious about this, as I recently discovered that CGC changed its original census - which had been established by at least 2009 - on Tomb of Dracula #45 sometime in 2019. 2009 census: 1st appearance of Deacon Frost. Blade the Vampire Slayer & Hannibal King appearance. 2020 census: Blade & Hannibal King appearance. The contention, and purpose of this thread, is whether Deacon Frost's first appearance is in Tomb of Dracula #13 or #45 - and most importantly why CGC felt the need to remove it, as in TOD #13, Frost appears as "The Doctor" in 5 panels with no dialogue, in backstory narrated by Blade, and in TOD #45 we get our first reveal of Deacon Frost in a side characters backstory - the difference here is that Frost is actually introduced by name and appears in two pages. Tomb of Dracula #13 Tomb of Dracula #45 Why do you think they changed it? All comments are welcomed ~
  9. Thanks a lot ^_^ They've been two reprints: a black and white one in 2018, and one in 2019 - so yeah, they might be from 1975. But thanks a lot - and everyone else - for your comments :3
  10. So they're real but the extend to whether their original or reprinted connected is in question? I mean for example, the MM #2 issue states: "Great thrills highlights this must have piece of ONE OF A KIND COMIC BOOK ART...from 1975 this is a ORIGINAL hand colored COLOR GUIDE to MARVEL CHILLERS #2......a great ACTION page featuring MODRED THE MYSTIC battling some DEMONS and POLICE getting out of "DRAGONS"!! This piece is the ORIGINAL hand colored COLOR WORK done by the COLORIST with COLOR NOTATIONS so the PRINTERS know how to finalize the color schemes!!!.....A truly important part of the comic making process...IT CANT BE IN BLACK AND WHITE!!!!!." Thanks to everyone who replied ^_^

  12. Exactly, within, lets say, the span of 10 years ~ I utterly cannot fathom the current prices for either Tales of the Teen Titans #44 and DC Comics Presents #26 - the former of which is almost as undervalued as Marvel's Rogue's first appearance.
  13. You're right, though I hasten to add that I conflated all of this based on 1st appearances and the MCU and DCEU alike, for example ~ True, Stargirl won't be the exception - but, it's still interesting that the 1st full appearance of Batwoman - to whom got her very own show, albeit a rather controversial one within the political-spectrum - in 9.8 is less than the value of Stargirl's equivalent.
  14. Compare some some DC characters who've made their first on-screen-appearances (although there's a few I'm not mentioning for obvious reasons ) ~ Black Lightning #1 is still absolutely affordable (VF/NM going for $60-100). Most of the characters in the Arrowverse TV show are still affordable (apart from perhaps the Golden Age characters). Stargirl may be the exception, though the show isn't even out yet. Tales of the Teen Titans #44 (WTF?) DC Comics Presents #26 (WTF?) Preacher #1 (the book actually depreciated since the "uninspiring" show - although I'm VERY thankful I managed to get Dillon's signature when I did). Black Canary/Oracle: Birds of Prey #1 (NM's going for less than $80) Superboy #9 (going for less than $20 in some cases NM) Most of the GL Corps' members. Superman: The Man of Steel #18. Detective Comics 585 (very shocking) Legends #1 (going as low as $5 in NM) Batman #181 (need I say anymore?) True, they have but still not as expensive as some Marvel comics - but one of my contentions is that a great many of Marvel's 60-70s produce is insanely expensive - but I agree, Marvel had the quantity specifically relating to characters, whereas DC may have surpassed them in story produce. But my other point is that they've not increased as much as they should - or at least, when I conflate it with some Marvel books.
  15. I'm rather curious as I came upon an eBay user: comicbooks.az - who's selling quite a great deal of the stuff ~ Would it be wise to give these a wide berth? I mean, are these actually real?
  16. Interesting ^_^ One thing I've noticed is that DC Comics are criminally undervalued (whether that be in general sentiment or price-rang) in comparison to that of Marvel, and I feel that's quite possibly - even a small amount, to be reasonable - due to the MCU. So - in a way - it's a good thing that the DECU hasn't really set off properly because it means we still can get a HUGE bargain with regards to prices. Even the character appearances in the DC live-action shows haven't taken off a great deal (like they should) also ~
  17. You know what's also cool to own? Still surprised there's only two of them on CGC's census ~
  18. I was wondering what grade do you think this is? Would this benefit from a press or a clean? The seller is stating this to be VF/NM 9.0 in quality, hence why I'm curious ~ All comments are welcomed! Thank you ^_^
  19. Hopefully he managed to reclaim some of them back since ~

  21. Such a really detailed reply - much appreciated, and thanks again, MarvelManiac ~ Thanks a lot, Deadpoolica ^_^
  22. The criterion is plentiful ~ On a side note: X-Men #139 is a stunning book, not to mention coupled with the Byrne/Claremont run.
