Cheers Harry.  7.0 is fine by me - although as mentioned above this is a known factory issue on very early ASMs.  Is there any way to tell..?  It looks to me like a very clean split..?  I'm happy with a 7.0 but if its a factory split it would be very handy to know.

I've not heard of this production issue before on any comics but I'm far from the most knowledgable boardie, sorry.

Hi Harry - new pic posted right above here.

All I can see from that pic is that it's got a slight stacking curl & some spine wear, however I can't tell how much.

I can tell you it's not any higher than a 8.0 but I can't give any more than that.

You need to use closer and sharper pics (scans ideally) if you want an informed opinion from the boards.

If I said it looks same close up - there's no hidden nonsense - would you say the vibe is near an 8..?  The back cover is the lighter shade.

I can do more pics in daylight but honestly there isn't much to see its extremely tight with great gloss.

No, I would say, I want to see it close up before I can make a reasonable assessment of it's grade.

I'm the same I prefer cents but they are literally from the same print run.  There is serious thought the pence ones may have been run off first.  The thing that I think makes this one so great/desirable is the low number key in this condition.  I'd expect it to be 30% off US price value - maybe bit less as its so nice.

Generally you're right, pence copies sell for 50% to 70% of their cent cousins but if the book is really hot I've seen them sell for close to the US versions. At the moment that would be FF 4, ASM 6, not so much.

Regarding the grade, hesitantly in lieu of sharper pictures, I'll go 7.5.

  6. "Just before his death, he developed the ability to shoot organic webbing from his buttocks."

Now I'm supposing this happened after he had mutated into a giant spider but this then begs the question, do spiders have an arse? If so I should imagine (after a momentary ponder) that it would be quite bony. Perhaps retractable cushions would be more beneficial for a sustained crime spree than steel tipped winkle-pickers.
