  1. I undergraded the Super by a lot! There's a cb reader's crease (?) down almost the entire front spine area + whatever was going on in the lower left corner. Perhaps it wasn't a crease, I honestly don't know at this point but that book really threw me a googly. Gift grade on the Batgirl but that's why this contest is so fun & challenging, Andy has a great eye for picking out the oddballs.
  2. Yep, it's very faded but I believe it's the Thorpe & Porter one shilling stamp.
  3. Easy 5.0. As far as I can see (pics were a bit small) the spine roll is the only major problem.
  4. I was well off on the Cap but with the black front cover it was hard to see if the staining went through the book which I think must have been the case to get a 4.0.
  5. He seems quite adamant that the comic wasn't trimmed which makes me think he was the original owner (probably not unless he's Methuselah) or at least had it for some time. If someone is prepared to be that deceitful regarding the 'work' done on a book then trimming would be an easy decision to make as well.
  6. That colour touch is blatantly obvious even with a scan. I dread to think what it looked like in hand.
  7. Because of the comparatively short run, Silver Surfer has been the only SA/BA run I've been able to complete. Here's my #1, low grade of course but considering I won it for less than a tenner on feebayUK I'm very happy with it.
  8. Grade submitted. Although I think your standards of secrecy are slipping this year, Andy.
  9. Seems the Carousel is picking up speed! EDIT: I was attempting to post the final scene from Strangers on a Train but apparently I don't know how to post videos anymore.
  10. Yeah, they don't super confident about the publication do they. How many issues did it last? That is very Casablanca-esque. Did they fit in a hill of beans anywhere?
  11. 5.0 at best. Dots of colour loss. Long cbc near spine. Another cbc lower right which might go through the book as there's a corresponding crease on bc. Edge wear and two smaller cbc lower right & upper right fc. Also fairly hefty scratch near Thor's right kneecap.
  12. Love the aeroplane pics. GLWTS! Will be watching the thread like a or possibly a
  13. Bought a ton of books from Randall. Tight grading, great guy to deal with, shipping was fast and super secure. Looking forward to his next annual sale.
  14. I'm afraid I don't have any cool comics to give away this year but I'll offer up $50 Paypal.
  15. At least they were honest in the publishing of the unfavourable comments. Was Extra a try at publishing a comic in a pseudo newspaper format?
  16. Oh, I understand now. I didn't account for the casual racism. And yes, I completely missed the native chap flopped over the elephant's head.
  17. I think the most worrying depiction of the aviation action is that Hitler is clearly gunning for the Allies. And wasn't the Stuka terrible at dogfighting? The Americans must have gone to sleep on that one. And finally, a misprint on Sheena's elephant diagnosis or is Bob trolling her?
  18. Sod Christmas, this is the most wonderful time of the year! I will be there.
