  2. Kudos to October. As usual a flawless transaction for some spidey upgrades and some pretty funny comments. Already looking forward to next shipment of books.
  3. Kudos to Comicdey for some great books that made it safely from Alaska all the way to Atlanta. Grading was either dead-on or to the buyers advantage. Actually most were undergraded. I can't wait to buy more books.
  4. Thanks to October for some super hot HOS and X-Men 101. Also many thanks for the freebies.

  7. Do you have any idea when, where? I'm trying to do a search but not having any luck.
  8. Found something interesting on ebay. Never heard of DC variants. Anyone have any info on them? DC 35 center
  9. Just posted in marketplace. PM any offer before they go to ebay on Human Fly #1 9.0 top census Marvel Tales 67 8.5 top census Iron Fist 15 6.0 - I was robbed on this one Marvel Team-Up 58 6.5 a little harsh as well (IMO)
  10. I mentioned to some of you that there may be another deal in the works. 400+ boxes were purchased about 90 miles south of Toledo and brought back to atlanta. You know what is strange..... Not 1 single variant in the whole thing. Now this could be explained by various reasons like.... 1. cosmic has known about this all along and picked them all out!!!! 2. Only about 150 boxes fit the correct era requirements But still not a single one? Esp weird since the basement has been untouched since 1985. I guess we were spoiled by that last big Ohio find. Maybe these things are RARE?
  11. You can tell that the pricebox including thing and master of kung-fu is a seperate piece of cardboard. Maybe they had several different pieces like that? It would be kind of cool to see a 35 cent variant piece though. I also wonder why Marvel Two-In-One is covered up with another Marvel-Two-In-One. At first I thought this was the old Marvel Two-On-One but that doesn't seem to be the case. Weird?
  12. I've got a stupid question.... Where is the 35 cent variant on the cover? This isn't complete. Ebay MTO 29
  13. You paid under the Fine price? Then I think you got a great deal. I would say market would bear 9.0 price for a book in that condition. Maybe a little more?
  14. Here is a pretty cool page that explains UK pricing UK pricing I don't think exchange rate could have an effect on a single issue print run. If a 10p copy of a Sept 1977 book exists, I think its pretty safe to say the 12p is a price variant. Most likely all of these books will be 12p as that would have been the easiest thing to do at the time. There was really no reason to judge reaction to a price increase when only a limited amount of books were being sent over in the first place.
  15. US Version of Master of Kung Fu 47 would have been 30 cents and you have 10p Nova 13 is a possible 35 cent variant and came out the same month as my Cap 213. The fact that both are 12p either means... 1. We both have variants 2. All possible US 35 cent price variants were increased across the board to 12p The trick would be to find a 10p version of a possible price variant book. Has this topic ever been discussed before? I'll see what I can find out.
  16. This may be nothing, and I really don't have enough examples to be 100% certain. But I may have found a UK price variant. I have a Cap 213 with 12p on the cover and 30 cents on the indica. I also have x-men 112 with 12p on the cover and 35 cents on the indica. On ebay right now there is an x-men 124 with 12p which I believe would still be a 35 center? Does anyone have/know if US 30 centers were 10p in the UK? If interested I can post a scan tonight. Any thoughts??
  17. This is really interesting. In fact I have seen about 3 of these. All in the same place, which would be where we found 200+ 35 centers. This book is unique in that it...... 1. Has a 35 cent cover price 2. Has 30 cents printed on the indica 3. Has a UPC 4. But the diamond logo through me off Earl & I agreed that it must be another version of the reprint, but now I'm not so sure. This could be the reason why there was no regular 35 cent variant # 1 issues in that collection. The star wars #1 that I currently have is from Alabama. Keep in mind that there was 3- #2 1 - #3 4 - #4 You guys don't really think it could be a variant do you?????????
  18. Hey cosmic. how are you doing? What about that inhumans #12 double? Not counting the key 12 centers, that may be one of the most valuable double covers around. I still have pics if you want me to post?
  19. Thank-You From what I have learned there are about 184? of these. We found a little over 200, but not really close to the set. A lot of dupes, esp FF's, Howard the duck's, and others. I've been a part-time dealer for the last 4 years and I have never seen a copy of Scooby Doo variant or not. I have see a flintstones regular cover. Of course I never really get asked for either. But no, neither of those were in the collection. Just the Kid 218, which was stuck in a box of archies and gold keys. I thought that was kind of strange. Almost like somebody put it there on purpose.
  20. Thank-You That list is actually out of date. We have found another 50 or so to add. I'm working on a new list right now. I have to go out of town for a few weeks for work so I'm turning these over to...... (not sure if you can plug auctions or not) but do a search on nova 10 if you get bored. For those of you I have talked to (you know who you are) I really have enjoyed learning about this abstract portion of our hobby. You have completely transformed a spidey nut into a variant hunter. I have thought several times of leaving my life and hitting the road with these. (OK maybe not that far, but I check the bids on ebay way too much) I seriously think they have some sort of mystic power that instills greed in even the most laid back person. I probably will linger around the boards to see what happens with these. Good luck to those who want to complete the set. I'll try to find a Kid 219 for you!!!
  21. Pretty interesting site I seem to have stumbled upon. I'm sure I've spoken with some of you in the last few weeks. If anyone cares. And I suppose they might as this is Price Variant Club. The 200+ I found came out of a warehouse collection in Toledo Ohio. It is my opinion that several of these books were never sold. But, they were also stored without bags and boards. Only high grade issues were found in boxes that were stuffed. Still a bunch of old Capital City boxes to go through but its mostly stuff from early 80s and nothing from 77 yet. It would be nice to find a whole box of Kid Colts, but then only the first 5 would be worth anything. So I guess this should not take away from the scarcity of 35 centers as these are a very special case and have been sitting around for at least 15 years. On another note I would like to know why I found 7 price variants in 1 shop in Biloxi, MS I'm guessing the air force base could have brought them in from anywhere, because it wasn't one of the test cities? Does anyone know all the test cities? I've heard Toledo, Memphis, and Wilmington NC? Sorry for watering down the market on these!!!! Only have another 150 or so to go!!!!
