  1. Insane.  I had a few various grades and sold them a few years back.   While the book is cool I remember a dude in Chicago who sold on eBay and sold a couple,  got to talking to me and told me how he figured a way to make them himself.  I called bull on it but he did send me a photo of close to 20 black error venoms he had almost all appearing similar to one another.  He had a few graded ones too most of which were high grade.  When I asked how he was able to produce the error effect without leaving a trace, he wouldn’t tell me, just told me a butt load of the ones in the market are probably ones he sold to unsuspecting buyers.  So idk which are authentic or made by some dude anymore.

If one cover happened to be printed at 10% of the numbers of the other, then I could understand the less available one being hunted after. But I imagine that doesn't make as much of a difference if the split is something like 60/40. In that case, people are going to go after the art that they like (unless they're looking to get both). In the case of FSWW, I think the trade dress of 1A and the cover art makes it more appealing than 1B, although the B cover is still decent.

You could be right.  I’m not saying I’m right it’s just what I feel will happen.  Cover A to me is garbage and I have a few of it after buying Walmart packs.  So for me, if cover a is the one to have I have a bunch.  I like the frison cover B more and it actually pops color wise than the boring white border with greenish whatever that is on cover A

the market has spoken and apparently it prefers the boring krappy cover for reasons entirely unclear to me

Yea for now but I think collectors and people speculating will eventually go to the frison variant more as less are probably printed than the regular cover and the art is a hell of a lot better.  The regular cover is junk to me.  I’d rather have the orange 2nd printing over the boring 1st cover

I remember finding that thread awhile back. I have searched for years to research the books value but it's not in ANY guide. Not just because I own a copy but based on the very real rarity of any information anywhere outside of a few articles I believe there are not very many copies left. I could of course be wrong but when even the  Overstreet Price Guide is completely silent on it. I think the value on this book is underrated. Except for the one copy in the above article selling for $40 the other two sold for 350 and 425 in grades. There are two copies on the bay right now and honestly...the graded copy on there I believe is priced about right. Maybe someday someone will buy it maybe not but unless many other copies surface I wouldn't sell it short in rarity regardless of the book's "stated" number on the cover. At the time it came out I remember thinking "A children's kiddie book" and decided I would leave it alone. Either Batman the animated series cartoon had just came out or the book predated it (I can't remember) but we know how popular the series became. Anyway I decided to do the X-men and Captain Universe send away and there is alot of information and copies of this book in the wild so I'm guessing others concentrated on this book too. Pure speculation on my part but either way the Batman and Me book is rare enough I wouldn't part with it cheaply. I did end up with both the personalized comic versions and overall the DC version is superior. I was surprised actually. The lettering, writing, and artwork (excluding the awesome painted cover and posters from the x-men book and the novelty of the trading card) was much better in the Batman book in my opinion. Thanks for the congratulations!  I do feel lucky to have a copy. Here is a picture of the X-men one...it was cool being Captain Universe too :)20210217_181902_HDR-1-1.thumb.jpg.aede01d9ab80ed8caf744c861390c7b6.jpg

Beautiful cover!  Always loved the hilebrandt painted marvel cards too!

Nothing should be except for a little nostalgia, which usually helps a book reach $100-200 in 9.8.

CBSI did a pump and dump piece on it a few weeks back, so I'm not surprised to see people fomo'ing at the mouth and following whatever is churned out over there.

Oh okay thanks.  I was just wondering as Ben Reilly will always be my Spider-Man and I have a graded copy myself.  Might be time to list it then at a high price and see if someone bites.  I love the book but I’ll rebuy it when prices crash

  6. Guess the Stephanie brown speculation will begin now.   Over heard a bunch of collectors at my local comic shop talking about the rumor or news of her coming to the arrow verse.   The question is it better to speculate on her batgirl appearance or 1st appearance as blue bird?
