  1. I've been away from the Gold forum for a long time (over 5000 unread posts ). But I just caught up on the Ducks thread. Love Barks ducks. I need to re-read my reprints sometime this year.

I like these FC 147 pages.

One of the more poignant collecting stories I've heard on these boards was about Daredevil #1.

"My big break came when I realized that there was still one silver-age superhero that was actually still affordable to us kids: Daredevil. Me and my best friend saved for weeks to buy a F copy of #1 for $100 (each) and had it shipped to his house. I remember the excitement when he called to tell me it had arrived, and would bring it to school the next day.

That friend was later killed by a driver just after we both graduated high school. I still have the book and will never sell it."

  3. great assortment of books....especially like the Adventure 79!

Thanks Man!!!! Gotta say I did your Sig Line as well!!! :headbang: I would love to someday get my hands on some of those classic Sandman Covers!!! I know #40 is probably out of reach for me at this time, but would be so psyched if I could find the right copy of #42, 44, 46, 47, 51, or 60 for my collection!!!!!! And that Amazing Fantasy #15 is spectacular (worship)

Sweet book. (thumbs u As a fan of Simonson's Manhunter story in Detective Comics, I've always considered that issue THE key Adventure comic.
  4. I purchased a low grade Amazing Man #26 at a local flea market with a few other golden age books for $100. I ended up selling it to a friend for $400 who really wanted it. He had it graded. It came back 2.0 and then he sold it on eBay for close to $6,000. That one stung......
Ouch. All my regrets are monetary, not because I miss the comic.
