FINALLY, got a nice looking MS 2. Paid $26 and it looks like a VF, but there is a bit of rust migration by the BC staples, so I would only give it a 6.5/7.0. Still, I am very happy right now.
So in the end, you settled for less than VF.
Glad you finally got one.
Of course, it's not as nice as my 9.0.

Norinn Radd's Big Week-O-Comics!
From Showcase-New-England...
Marvel Collectors Item Classics 1-13, 20-25 - Reprints early SA classics!
Nice pickup, Norinn
I got a sizable run of VF Marvel Collectors Item Classics from SNE a few years back. The only 'hg' books I've ever purchased from SNE, and they were reasonably close on grade.
I like all the early Marvel reprint titles, but MCIC is my favorite - Fantasy Masterpieces being a close second. I'm convinced these early reprint titles are due for a significant jump in price; for many next-generation collectors, they may be the only SA versions of early Marvel titles that are accessible price-wise.
I've read #1-#9 so far. #6 is missing two pages.

Ooooh! The green variant.

Here's more info on Northlands from a previous thread:
Darn you! I was just going to post that.
Here's some info on other pedigrees....

wooden bullets. oh yeah, that's totally plausible. look, i can buy dracula in an off-the-rack blue suit, brown dress shoes, and a pointy red satin cape, but wooden bullets is a stretch i cannot abide
Ever hear of ironwood?

Some fantastic books, I have been very busy building ther family dwelling, but did manage to score a Bowling Green Pedigree of Marvel Spotlight #2 CGC 8.0
Congrats! I saw that one. Tempting, but I've decided to wait for a 9.0/9.2 pedigree copy.

They are pretty cool. If they are cheap enough, I may have to check them out.

I'd put him on "ignore" for a week for that comment!
Then I guess you'll have to miss out on the new Nohands post, huh?
Don't make me pull this car over!
Oh, all right.
As I said, sweet book! I can only hope there's a Pacific Coast ToS in my future collection.

Muucho Grande Sweeeeeeeeeet!
What are the oldest books in the Pacific Coast? Anyone know?
Sweet, indeed.
Too bad it's a pre-hero ToS.

Starting reading the TPBs and just got #3 yesterday. Excellect series. I am very excited about reading through all of the issues and finding out what happens.
As Sean (and Chris) said, anyone not reading this series should be.
Woohoo! Another convert.
Just wait. The 3rd trade is very good; sets up one of the major players in the series. But in the 4th trade everything starts coming together. You'll love it!
Woohoo! More competition for Risso's art.

Starting reading the TPBs and just got #3 yesterday. Excellect series. I am very excited about reading through all of the issues and finding out what happens. I'm pretty finicky when it comes to shelling out $15 for a TPB and I wouldn't be buying all of them unless this was a great series.

Nice B&B comics, Adam. Great covers! I haven't really looked at the pre-hero ones before.
-
Thanks for the large scans Nikos. I'm seeing art on these covers that I've never noticed before.
Yeah. I've never seen that cover of SoHH #17. Nice scope cover.

I'm surprised there wasn't a thread about this auction...

I am often amazed at how little word-of-mouth Andy (goldustcomics.com) gets as a dealer around here compared to places like Metro and Superworld. Every time I look at the books Andy has in stock, I am amazed at the selection. Marvel, DC, golden age, silver age, bronze age, it is better than most American dealers have and he has a lot of stuff that you just can't find anywhere else (case in point, the Captain America Comics #75 discussed recently in the Marketplace). His grading is as good as anyone's and the shipping cost from England isn't usually that bad either, especially if you're buying multiple books.
Agreed. I've bought two or three times from Andy, and have been very pleased. His selection is definitely impressive. Definitely worth a look from more folks.
No Tales of Suspense from #39 to #74.
This week in your collection?
