Great cover.
I would have been all over that in Heritage's Auction (you got a great deal) except I had just picked up the White Mountain copy (CGC 9.6). But as I said, you got a very good price.
On that note, did someone say they liked TTA#93?
Do you own that?
Time for the obligatory .

Here is a Batman #319
That cover reminds me of one of my favorite Robin covers. The cover art was up for sale in 2001 when I was just getting into original art.

Here is a fair scan of Flash #274... my pic hosting site is not working so see the attachment.

Nice signature, Kevin.

I knew that would get a reaction from the usual suspects.

Since things seem kinda slow here in the BA horror thread...
Look! A Marvel Superhero horror fest!
-
As this is my 666th post , I thought it fitting to post a themed BA horror cover here.

Come on. Galactus, of course. He EATS PLANETS, for cri-yi. He's DEATH'S BROTHER!! I can't believe I have to tell you this.
Todd "My mom thinks I'm cosmic" Frye
Galactus eats planets as light snack. He wins. Hands down.
But honestly, is this the kind of discussion grown men should be having?

Geez, I'm surprised you did not notice Sterling, but guess who else got a letter "mentioned" in this issue.....
none other than Todd McFarlane .... ever heard of him?
Of course, if any of you had picked up and read issue # 4 of my fanzine, HCR, you would have known this & other DC BA horror titles that Todd fanishly sent letters to. (SHAMELESS PLUG!!!)
I was wondering if you would comment. It was cool to read Todd's letters (long-winded as they are).
Have you found any more?

Great cover art!

Sweet black cover.

You can see the original art (plus Denise Richards ) in the December Playboy's article on original comic art. It is cropped a bit, but not much. The tag in the article says it is 11 x 17 and was traded recently for about $55k.
Looks like the Dec Playboy is becoming a must have.
Batman 255 cover or Denise Richards.... .... that's a tough one.

Does anyone know ferndale4? Is he a forum member?

To be honest if i had the money i would have plucked that sucker up.
Yeah i heard about it.It's a 9.4 copy that I bought recently, that I plan to flip for some other purchases.A good price IMO.
This is one of my favourite covers also, although the original is better IMO
Damn that blabbermouth Shrektard.
I like the original also, but that goes for a little bit more than I want to pay for it.
I will have to get a copy of both books to compare.....one day
BTW, you will never get a Marvel Giant-Size set
btw
Probably shouldn't have broadcasted that....

Hey forumites!
I'm on vacation and the hotel has internet access.
On my way to Florida. Bought a set of Tower of Shadows issues #1-#8 to read. You horror guys are starting to get me into this whole genre. Not sure whether to thank you or curse you for getting me hooked.
Looking forward to some good reading. Have read #1 so far and can't wait to read some other series.
Keith, when is the next issue of HCR coming out?

Greetings forumites,
I was surfing the web today, as I am wont to do, and lookie what I found.... TMNT #1
I've never read it and was ecstatic to finally get to read the original b&w origin issue. I thought I'd share it with all you Copper Age fans.
I've always been a TMNT fan. I used to watch the cartoon series back in the 80's, but didn't even know the comic book series existed until a friend in college mentioned that he bought issue #1 off the shelf and that it was a b&w comic (of course, he traded it away long before it became valuable).
So, I thought I would start this thread to share favorite covers and storylines. And for any fans who might have stories to share about when the original comic series came out in 1984.

romitaman had this unpublished cover to Detective 481...
I like it MUCH better than the published version.
-
Oooh! Sorry Keith, I meant to tell you that...
And norrin, Thats a Haunt of horror I never had! looks good!
I bought it for the Devil Hunter main story. It's a takeoff of the Exorcist (which was a phenomenon at the time). Nice cover art by Earl Norem.
Here's some info I just found...
And here's some art that Gene Colan did for another story...

Hey guys. I should be getting a Tower of Shadows reader lot any day now. They are my first real BA horror books. I was just wondering what everyone thought of the series as far as the stories.

Nice avatar MK. Large Marge returns!
One of the best, scariest moments in cinematic history! (Behind only the library ghost in Ghostbusters, of course.)
Post your newest Pedigrees!!!
