  1. Hoarding is not a business model, it is a mental disorder.
  2. I think I have only purchased one in the last dozen years. It was Captain America #1, Jim Steranko variant, mainly because it's Steranko.
  3. The problem with hoarders, is that they are not very good sellers.
  4. I feel EBAY is essentially a 'written' contract. Not in the classic sense, but as the seller you assume the risk of your listing. If you are adamant about a certain price, set the reserve or fixed price. Otherwise, if it sells, and you aren't happy it didn't sell for as much as you wanted, or somebody offers you even more after the sale and you cancel, that kind of makes you a weasel.
  5. Aluminum? Graphite? When does Modern stop being Modern? Or is it always going to be Modern until it gets replaced. I think Marvel is currently in the Fecal Age.
  6. I've read about as much of this thread as I could before my eyes fell out. This whole thing is rather pointless. From what I gather the OP is living at home, in his mid 20's. Kind of working? Disability? What is the rent? Car payment at all? Utilities? Food? Unless you are paying those things, you will not hold my interest in your quest on your "Road To Success", because quite frankly, you are currently ignoring the game called life. I would love to not pay the aforementioned expenses, and just sink money into funny books, but that isn't any of our reality, and if it's yours, you are not on the same playing field with everyone else. Call this tough love, but I could be less than interested in your Road, because it sounds like a one way street.
  7. Detective - Good Batman- Good All Star Batman- Too early to tell' Flash- Good Justice League- it's ok. Yet another alien invasion storyline Superman- might drop
  8. Good to see the Rob Liefield School of Anatomy had a graduate.
  9. You will always want/need a cover, so if you are going to slab it, at least you can look at it. Plus if he botches his signature, you can always get a new reproduction cover, while your original FF1 guts remain unblemished
  10. Are you going to slab it? If so, maybe the cover so you can at least see it while it's in the sarcophagus.
  11. I remember that frickin title. I liked Joe M's artwork on that particular book (not so much for his superhero stuff though), and it took forever for the next issue to come out. Got rid of mine years ago.
  12. Random Sample, going back 3 years from July. Looks like they should have put an arrow in Cho instead of Banner. Any chance Marvel will admit soon that Banner is Hulk and Cho is no go? July 2013 Rank 39 Indestructible Hulk 10 Marvel 45,531 July 2016 Rank 90 Totally Awesome Hulk 9 Marvel 26,936
  13. This turned out beautiful....pfffft! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silver-Surfer-4-CGC-6-5-Signed-Stan-Lee-/322225902551?hash=item4b062913d7:g:zbIAAOSwMHdXTJhN
  14. For good reason, DC is far superior right now. Marvel is just brutal at this moment. I read four Marvel titles, and it will be three soon. They have just bastardized the MU, and they should fire everyone at the House of Limited Ideas.
  15. Currently: Detective (my favorite) Batman All-Star Batman Superman (I may drop this) Flash Justice League
  16. I definitely agree and while I have not had this problem with him, I have paid Jim Steranko almost as much and had him insist on using black in a dark area while I was asking him to use a red paint pen that I was handing him. Due to this, I will not get more signatures from him in the future. Steranko is a a great guy. I did have a similar situation too. I had a Nick Fury Agent of Shield #1 poster, that I wanted him to sign in silver, but he insisted on blue. The area I wanted him to sign was the darker blue area. We went back and forth for a few seconds. Trust me, Jim Steranko has forgotten more about the color wheel than I will ever know, but I wanted what I wanted. He finally caved, took my small cash purchase, signed it, shook my hand and I walked away. He has a really nice signature, and it is subtle, not overpowering with the silver, which is what I wanted.
  17. I've seen him sign everything from a guitar, to an arm (attached to my nephew), to the funniest item of all....a comic book he had zero ties to.
  18. At this moment, I have about as many posts as I have years collecting.
  19. I will say, some people hand him some pretty 'busy' covers. That TOS #65 didn't have much real estate to work with anyway.
  20. I dunno, every time I turn around, seems like somebody is whipping out a copy. About a month ago at one of my LCS, he bought about 6 longboxes off of a guy, without even looking through them, and he pulled out 4 NM #98 as he was sorting through them. .
  21. At the most recent Megacon Orlando, saw somebody have an electric guitar signed by him. Not comic book related, or anything just a regular looking Stratocaster. Not sure what I think about that. I mean if Eric Clapton is signing AF #15's then maybe we found a new niche.
