I do not suffer from social anxiety but I do suffer from other people's stupidity. I am also getting to the point that I recognize that my irritation is causing me to be seen as rude to others.
My basic rules for NYCC
- When you are going down the escalator do not stop at the bottom and check your phone just standing there. There are people behind you. You will get an elbow.
- Walk with a damn purpose. Have some type of agenda. Standing around is nice when it is not crowded. You standing around to 'take it all in' is causing traffic jams.
- If there is no one in front of you, there is no need to walk down the hallway with four of your friends like you are god damn Reservoir Dogs. Allow people to pass or be prepared for people to go through you.
- Stay to the right. Some people do not understand this concept.
- Many of us who take the subways and LIRR each day treat these cons like the subway system. We walk with a purpose and we navigate around. We have little time for the confused doe eyed lost sheep in the crowd on their cell phone.
This is me to a "T"
everything you said rings true. Lets not forget the people with baby strollers... please just please find a babysitter that day. I understand these are family shows and a lot of families go but I can guarantee your 2 year old won't remember a thing. Trying to get around those things in a tight ally is tough, I don't want to bump into your baby but i'd rather avoid bumping into the really hot cosplayer walking beside you too

Nice score on Anthony Daniels, Finally someone I want to actually meet in the south building! Hope there are more BIG guest announcments coming.
Any time frame on when the Jim Lee gold packages will be announced? I need to make sure I don't miss out on that one... Better be more than 10 spots! haha

I think its pretty cool to be honest, a band forming out of a comic and the creator is the singer.
If the band ends up blowing up or gets a big cult following I wonder if the value of the comic goes with it?
-
I'm curious as to everyones thoughts on this comic..
This whole concept seems pretty unique to me.
For those/Most not in the know, september mourning is a Comic book and a Heavy Metal band. The band itself is based off the comic book which seems like a neat idea to me anyways.
Here's a link to the wiki because it can explain it better than I ever could.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_Mourning
The comic came out 2 weeks ago and sold out right away. I missed the boat on it but luckily my lcs owner knows when I might think something is cool so he put a copy aside for me. After reading it I was totally all in! It made me check out the band and really like the music as well.
Anyways whats your thoughts on this? Seems like a wicked concept to me... I think these 2 forms of media go hand in hand.
After doing a bit more digging tonite it looks like this may be a new trend.
"Lights" is a canadian synth pop artist, she's fairly popular, now has a Comic book called Skin & Earth coming out from Dynamite comics, again the Comic book (Fully written and drawn by her) goes hand in hand with her new cd coming out in the fall.
Do you think a) the band/artist could drive the popularity of the book? or vise versa?
anyways consider me intrigued... Thoughts??

BOOM! Studios’ widely praised run on WWE comics continues! I heard this was terrible... the organizers didn't set up a place for the attending artists and most got stuck having to set up in a hallway

Man... Some awesome books here! 2 I would snag in a second... but that USPS rate to canada right now is insane. Makes buying from the us too pricey for me.

I'm hoping a lot of the junk vendors aren't back. I don't understand why they even buy booths to be honest. nobody buys the knock off toys and junk they sell. Seems like 2 or 3 wasted isles if you ask me. Would much rather have more comic dealers in those slots.

Paid for the rest of my booth...now I wait to find out about booth locations
Hopefully not in the dreaded 1300 isle again
Little closer to Harley or Andy is ideal.

Gotta be careful with the La Mole Comic con mexican variants... A lot of times they just reprint really popular and big money books. I'm sure a few unaware people have been bitten by this. Nothing worse than thinking you have a 1000$ comic when it's actually 20$
These are all La Mole or Mexican reprints

Nice work Kevin!! I'm assuming thats the last blast of comic guests then?
That "Also appearing" list is deceptively good! Always nice to see my girl Dawn there and get more commissions! Bill McKay will be awesome, Sorah Sungh does not get enough credit for her crazy good skills, Ray Fawkes, Johhny d and Mike Krome are all amazing artists as well.
Will Dan Mendoza be repping the action labs booth again? He is a blast to talk to.

Edward was an awesome buyer, Paid promptly and let me know when My package arrived safely, which as a seller is always nice to know!

Hmm. Ya just checked round trip is 450$ because of the late booking, I probably couldn't make enough to justify it this year. I'll keep this one in mind next year though. I generally stick with cgc ss book and getting books signed to flip but the well has run dry up here I really need to replenish my stock soon.

Iv'e never hit this show up but it seems like its just dollar bins for days.. Does anyone bring any decent keys or slabs or anything? is it worth the 2 hour flight?
