  1. Its very easy.

Send the artist your blank cover.

When you're at the convention, go meet with the artist and make sure he/she has the sketch done and with them. When its done just head over to the cgc booth, or applicable facilitator and get a witness from them. Pick up your sketch and return to the cgc booth and fill out your paperwork. easy peasy.

Also just from personal exp. do not pay upfront for your sketch. I refuse to pay until I see at least a rough sketch of what the artist has done. I pay in full when I pick up the completed sketch. There is nothing worse than pre paying 2, 3 or 400$ for a sketch and you're not happy with the end result.

Also explain to the artist the book is being graded by CGC as some artists will charge a fee for a CGC book.

    Hope that helps!

  2. I'm shocked people are surprised by this. Marvel has been doing this for what 5 or 6 years now? I gave up on marvel after uncanny x-men rebooted 3 times in 2 years.

my OCD collecting can't handle it.

I asked Joe Quesada at fan expo a couple years ago if we would ever see 50 issues of a title again and he was honest as hell and said no, probably not. They can slap a new #1 on a series and charge 5.99 for it and make more than say issues 33 of a series.

All about the benjamins since disney took over.

  3. All I collect is signatures, so for me A) to protect my book B) to assign a grade/value to my book C) to authenticate the signature 100% on my book.

Personally I don't care if it's a 1$ book, but If I love the Creator or Celeb who signed it ill slab it.

Avengers Infinity War: Prelude #1 s/s Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Michael Rooker - $425

    Sebastian Stan add-on optional - $125

    Sean Gunn add-on optional - $55

Currently looking to see where/when Anthony Mackie (Falcon) is going to be signing, so we can add him too.

I've got EIGHT (8) spots here

I'll also have 2-4 back up copies if there's interest and a wait list beyond the initial 8 cps.

    How much for just Bautista?

  5. It doesn't matter if you personally didnt press your book, but if they sent in multiple tier'd books on the same form they require different services and grading times. I'm assuming your lcs send in books for multiple people and themselves in one shipment.

Emails are for the birds, go down there directly and ask to speak to the owner/manager. Explain your situation and that you would like to see the invoice on the cgc website to see that status of the book.

I've never waited more than 5 months even on a slowtrack with multiple tier'd books.

Best advice i've already given you. Use gotham central. Carlos is the man.

Sounds a little off to me though, their old manager no longer works there and he is the guy who subbed them? I hope he did sub them and not just keep them when he left his job. Or at least left the proper paperwork for the owner/new manager.

    Best of luck!

  6. Depends on how the books were submitted i'd imagine. Clearly they were'nt fast tracked. Were the subbed with different tier'd comics? Were other comics subbed with your first subbed to ccs for pressing? a lot can hold up a shipment.

I know once, my lcs did a shipment for me and forgot to update their cc info so my books sat there for a couple months with a lack of communication between him and cgc.

That being said yes a year is MUCH too long inho. Next time sub with Carlos at Gotham Central. He's one of the good ones you can trust.

Ask your lcs to do a lookup on their computer to see the status of your books infront of you so you can see where they stand.

  7. I know i'll be in the vast minority here but I would be thrilled to own any copy of AF15 or any of the books in this thread. I don't care where he signed it, end of the day you have a signed book by stan lee.

I'll never be lucky or rich enough to own an AF15, im shocked these books are being spoken so poorly of. I would give an arm or leg for one.

  8. Ok i'm super late to the party here but I finally got a chance to watch the last jedi tonite.

Look, i'm 39 years old and grew up on the original trilogy, groaned through most of the prequal trilogy and have for the most part enjoyed the animated stuff. Star Wars has meant a lot to me for a long long time...

I have to say this, i'm probably alone here, The Force Awakens and Last Jedi by FAR and I mean FAR and away have been the BEST Star Wars movies yet!

I cannot wait for more! I'm so incredibly happy Disney hasn't gone far left field with these movies. It is EVERYTHING I wanted them to be and more!

Rey, Fin, Poe, Kylo, These are some amazing characters and I have all the same feelings for them the way I did with Luke, Han, Yoda and a lot of the originals. Watching these movies makes me feel 10 years old again and now all I want to do is go buy a replica light saber and swing it around my house!

Side note, I will never ever forget being lucky enough to meet Mark Hamill at Fan Expo Canada a couple years back. I told him how much star wars meant to me and he said to me wait, you haven't seen nothing yet. Boy was he right!

  9. To be fair, and yes he closed it a little early lol but since the changeover to the new boards the buy/sell section has kinda dried up. I think we lost a LOT of users.

Last year I could make a sales thread and sell 3/4 of my books in a week now I have a hard time selling one or two books.

Iv'e also noticed people seem to wait a week now for the obligatory 10-20% off that most people do just to sell their stuff now. Even after that I continue to get low ball offers.

I know me as a seller aren't in this to lose a bunch of money. I understand we all want a deal but if you see something on here priced lower that ebay or gpa maybe don't lowball it?

I've personally stopped the 10-20% off stuff, or the gimicky buy this book and get these 2 for free!

If I see my add doesn't have a great response I just close it now.

I think a combined loss of active users/bordies expecting a discount has hurt this community.
