  1. Oh, and lots of people looked into everything on the COA last time and none of that exists. It is entirely fictional. My guess is they keep tracing something by Todd, maybe. It looks like they are all the same sketch image and only the signature moves.
  2. Definitely a fake. He has sold this one (or variations thereof) several times using the same bunk COA. There were discussions in FB groups when they sold before and I save everything. See images below.
  3. This seller got on my radar today for dubious "Bill Watterson Calving and Hobbes" sketches. They also have a Stan Lee with quickie Spider-man sketch. https://www.ebay.com/sch/lavelle834/m.html? Last week they sold this Bill Watterson Calvin and Hobbes sketch for only $51, so others thought it was dubious as well. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BILL-WATTERSON-CALVIN-HOBBES-ORIGINAL-SKETCH-NOT-SIGNED-RARE-/173807872643?_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l44720&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true It's disappointing so many of these sellers keep popping up on eBay.
  4. He's had it back since last week. The excuse from the con man was as silly as expected, but Ryan did get the art back.
  5. I can't believe that was what he really said. (or thereabouts) I literally told my buddy that would be this guy's excuse, if he did return it, and I would put money on it. I'm laughing so hard right now. Clearly his motivation is damage control for his rep, and not remorse for what he did or anything else. He's destroyed his own reputation in this hobby. But if you choose to make that bed you have to sleep in it!
  6. I got the impression that he would give a story like "my cousin/friend/employee must have switched it out for the copy and I didn't know. I honestly thought I was the victim. When they came clean I immediately told you" type of excuse. If that is in fact what he said, he is clearly lying because that is the ONLY story that can possibly make it sound like he didn't just run a scam and got caught. Even though it is statistically impossible for all that to fall into place. But I guess as long as you got the part and we all know his name and who to avoid ever dealing with, I guess that's all we could hope for.
  7. @RS88 Like others, I would also like to know more details, even if convoluted, because this is a scam most of us have never heard of and we are all now pretty invested in this tale. How he came to admit he had it and his explanation is important to us to know. I hope you'll share the details as the community is entitled to know after their support and he certainly DOES NOT warrant the protection.
  8. Paypal Personal implies that you know them as a friend or family member so there is no way for them to get a refund. It is essentially the same as check or MO or sending it via Western Union in that it puts all the power in the seller's hands so there is no way to dispute or get a refund. Many people in the hobby use it when they can to save on fees.
  9. These are all still available and the prices are somewhat negotiable, so best offers are definitely considered. If anyone wants something, shoot me an offer!
  10. Last call! These end in just over 4 hours and with no reserve they will definitely be sold. Now is the time to bid if you want some Jim Lee pages.
  11. I have just set up a gallery on my CAF just for consignment art I will be selling for friends. https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=195644 Currently up for sale there are 4 pieces, with 2 by Jim lee and 2 by Jason Pearson. First is the end page from X-men #8 by Jim Lee & Art Thibert featuring Ghost Rider for $6500, and it comes custom framed, as it has been since the '90s. Next is the manga comic Eat-Man tpb cover by Jim Lee & Scott Williams for $4k. Then there are 2 Jason Pearson pieces featuring his pinup from Prophet #1 back in 1993, and his cover to Xena #9. Both are $1500 each. At this time my friend is really only looking for cash for these pieces. Trade is not something he is into but it may be considered if you have any Wildstorm covers, pinups, or card art by Michael Golden, Arthur Adams, Adam Hughes, or Jason Pearson. Check or MO is preferred, but Paypal is acceptable is you pay the 3% for fees. Best offers will be considered as well. I can be reached through CAF mail, PM here, or through my personal email madman1138 at yahoo dot com. Thanks for looking!
  12. Bump. Now less than 2 days left on this 2-page lot! (see what I did there lol) Get your bids in now for these nice pages for cheap! https://www.ebay.com/itm/143096656269
  13. I have a few pages from his X-men run, and have been buying them over the past 5 years or so and as recent as last year. Anything from that run that has an X-men team member will be $3-5k at least. If it has Wolverine, add a couple grand, and if it has him in costume with popped claws, add another couple grand. In my experience, a panel page can run anywhere from $3-9k, depending on who it has on it, and the Wolverine pages tend to be over $10k and up. Splashes are even higher, obviously. You won't find anything out there under $3k at this point. Good luck!
  14. The pieces are now live on eBay. $.99 start and no reserve! https://www.ebay.com/itm/143096656269 Thanks for looking!
  15. I had put these 2 Wildcats pages by Jim Lee & Scott Williams up here last month for a friend who needed to sell them, but they didn't sell since we were trying for what he paid for them and it was the holidays. But his circumstances have gotten worse so for the next 24 hours he wants me to offer them one last time here but together this time as a 2 page lot for $2000 plus shipping. These sold last year for $1200 and $1800 each, so this is an amazing chance to get $3k in Jim Lee original art for only $2k. First post claiming them here or in a PM to claim will win! This deal is in effect until 5pm Pacific tomorrow (Saturday January 19th) and if not sold here by then, they will be listed as a 2-page lot on eBay. So time is a factor but we are offering them here first. Thanks for looking!
  16. Now Stroman is doing these 11x17 sketches that he puts up for sale on various FB groups and such. They are pretty nice and I know better than to commission him, but I thought surely he won't have an issue with an already finished piece. So I replied, he told me where to Paypal the money and I sent it immediately. With shipping it was only $90, so I figured it was worth the risk even knowing his reputation on commissions because I liked the art. But sure enough, I never heard from him again. I messaged through the FB group sale listing, direct to him, and through his Paypal email address. He never responded to any of them and never mailed the art. Someone in the FB mentioned to me that they had to initiate a Paypal refund to get him to mail out their art, so right around 45 days since payment was sent and no word ever received, I initiated a Paypal dispute. Literally the next morning I got a FB Messenger photo of the shipping receipt with the tracking info and he mailed it. So I did get it and close the dispute, but without the ability to threaten to take the money back I doubt I ever would have seen my piece. I even watched him mock a guy he never delivered to on his FB page as the guy was trying everything. So unless you simply "have to have" something by him and see him in person at a con and buy something in a portfolio that is already done and right in front of you, just avoid any deals with him. He straight out doesn't care.
  17. The Greg Staples Mars Attacks painting is now on hold with sale pending. I have almost met my goal but I can still stand to sell more so I will leave this up a while longer. Thanks!
  18. The Arthur Adams Booster Gold cover is now on hold with a sale pending. I still need to move another 2-4 pieces to reach my goal and then the rest go back into the vault. Thanks!
  19. I recently committed to buying a major Grail piece, so I need to sell some art to pay for it. We all know the drill lol. Paypal accepted but check or MO preferred. Shipping from California is usually $15 is the US and varies wildly for international, but I will ship anywhere. More details on my CAF for these specific pieces below at https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=168475 PM me here or message me through my CAF to talk more. But here is the rundown on the available pieces: -Wildcats #21 page 11 by Travis Charest with Troy Hubbs inks, this page is the 1st appearance and origin of Maxine Manchester aka Ladytron (a popular Travis creation) Asking $3k -Grunge of Gen13 by Travis Charest, untouched tight, finished pencils, a rare treat! 20. Not as bad as you'd expect actually. Although both are from the same batch of physical pieces he did specifically to sell in 2012, I got them years apart. I bought the first one (Batman vs Joker) back when his rate was 500 Euro ($600 USD at that time) back in 2012/2013, when he first did them and which seems like a steal now. The Joker at Arkham Asylum piece I got recently for about 1300 CAD (about $1025 USD). Both times I just got lucky. I've seen far lesser pieces sell for more, since he charges $1200 for a single character now. I wish he still did pieces like these with this level of detail but he is far too busy these days.
  21. **New Price for the Wildcats pages. Now just $2500 for both if bought together in the next week!** My friend just messaged me that he needs the money sooner rather than later for some urgent medical equipment needed, so the 20% sale is still in effect bringing the Wildcats pages down to $1800 and $1200, respectively, for $3k total. If the Wildcats pages are purchased together in the next week, he will take an additional $500 off! So it's just $2500 for both together if bought in the next week! He just purchased one of the pages last month on Heritage for nearly $2k after BP and sales tax so he is willing to take a good deal less than he paid on these if someone is willing to buy them now. The Stephen Platt art of mine is still 20% off and otherwise unaffected. Thanks!
  22. Sorry I missed this over the weekend and didn't reply. These are all inks over original pencils. These were all well before blueline inks took over the industry. That's why I love the '90s art so much. Let me know if interested!
  23. His physical work is incredible to look at in person. With all of his awesome digital work for his published covers, there isn't a lot of actual physical work out there. But I was lucky enough to get these 2 paintings from his 2012 batch of commissions, back when he would do a few pieces specifically to sell. (One I have had since 2013 and I got another recently) I absolutely love his Batman and Joker stuff! His current commissions are less detailed but he is only going up in pricing, so my recommendation is to get one now if you want one.
  24. Felix just did another drop of Invincible art yesterday. Nothing from issue #11, but a lot of available pages again. http://www.felixcomicart.com/ArtistGalleryTitles.asp?ArtistId=591 Good luck!
