  1. Thanks forthe direction, I will ask over there. As for having the wrong email...well, I'm submitting where they say...
  2. Hi guys, first time complainer here. opened a box of 25 yesterday, and one book is really badly damaged. Nothing on the boook in front, nothing on the book behind it. I was flabbergasted to pull it out and see this damage. What are my options in terms of getting it re-holdered?
  3. I've now emailed service@CGCcomics.com *FOUR* times and each time the message has been returned undeliverable by Mimecast. Guess a phone call will have to do.
  4. Longtime customer, this is my second complaint. I received a number of books in a large box from CGC today. 25 slabs. I had started pulling them out, looking upon the plasticized/protected goodness, when I realized one slab ...was not just chipped, but it was nearly shattered. NO OTHER slab is damaged in any way. The box was not beat up other than the corners showing some wear, but nothing else. No indication of any trauma. The slab was about the 4th or 5th one in, so it was away from the corners. And the slabs both in front of, and behind it were untouched. This is the most-damaged slab I've ever seen (maybe I'm lucky), and it's the most-damaged I've held. It makes no sense. I have a theory, but that will wait. What are my options here?
  5. No - compare the couple in the foreground to the background guy entering the room. The solo male's linework is different and better. But while at first glance I dismiss the couple in the foreground, on closer inspection the black suit arms are well drawn, especially the cuffs and cuff-links. I wonder if the solid black for the suit was a handy way to cover/alter some art...and the couple's heads look awkward and strangely attached. He appears to have moved his chin to or past his shoulder. The expressiveness of the couple's faces are nothing close to that of the solo man.
  6. Something strange is up with the "My Submissions" page 'CGC Submission Tracking', as the status is INCORRECT. I have 3 entries, and one is sitting in 'grading/encapsulation'.....but the same entry showed SHIPPED a month ago, and I have received the books in hand - so am VERY perplexed why the entry reverted back to 'grading/encapsulation' after I received them. Thought you should know, and in case anyone else in the same situation.
  7. Spine splits happen. I had an All-American #89 graded at 7 that I decided to put through for a press and re-grade. CCS contacted me after they opened a 1 1/2" spline split, reducing the book from a 7 to a 4.5 - and I got to pay for that joyful experience as well. On a book from 1947, and 1st appearance... that HURT. And is the reason that i sought and found other pressing options.
  8. This is LATE... might be too late for some people, but here's some pics of HeroesCon past - obviously a few years old. The Convention center is right downtown; the Panthers stadium is about 3-4 blocks away, and the high rises are apartments as mush as they are offices. There's bars and restaurants all around, Nascar hall of fame is right behind, as is a huge Whole Foods. This is a comic-centric show, and people have noted Heroes and the Baltimore Con are very similar; lots of artists and book dealers, though Baltimore started adding a few TV/Movie people a few years ago. The highlight of Heroesfor me is the art display and subsequent auction; many artists set up easels in the art area, and paint/draw through the weekend, then sell the piece - for charity if i recall. 2019 Bill Watterston donated a set of hardcover Calvin and Hobbes collections...including a small but complete drawing of C&H in a sled or cart, going downhill at speed. That was FOUGHT OVER. Here are some examples, and also a couple pics of a wall, and the New Forces display... just as an idea. In 2019 the original Matt Baker cover art at one booth on display blew me away...
  9. Got my Claremont's back 2-3 weeks ago. Tynion / Dell'edera shipment just showed up Thursday. My Perez books redirected to Wolfman...only show Received. Since CGC is not going to HeroesCon (come ON!!), I'm going to be sending a number of books in for Roy Thomas, instead of getting them done in person. Sure, I have stuff to be signed, but w/o CGC there, I am not willing to try to open slabs, so will stick with raw stuff, and probably make do with Voldy - which is NOT my preference. Seriously though. Steranko, Claremont, Bagley, Thomas, Conner, the Simonsons, etc etc etc... this should have been on CGC's schedule.
  10. 11. Thanks. CGC tracking and usps show my box marked Alll overrrr with GP has been received... but has not moved in 4 weeks now.
  12. Is it acceptable to post Before (raw) / After (graded) pics, in what some might consider a shameless display of either bragging, or an attempt to drive a sale ? I shall take that encouragement and run with it! I posted these sometime back RAW..... BEFORE: also BEFORE:

  14. Fresh raw pics, of fresh raw comics. I didn't take enough before sending them off....
  15. Longtime lurker. Planet Comics were among the books that got me into serious collecting a number of years ago. I dipped my toes back into Planet last year, picking up 2 issues. I'll see about some pic hosting, so I can share. So....anyone ever hold a 'Sally Wharton' Planet?
  16. UPDATE: Sent 2 packages totalling 4 Express books: A) 1 books for removal of restoration, CCS press, and grading, and B) 3 Express books for CCS press and grading. All books were marked as received July 26th. The single book A that had restoration removal....is already on its way back. So July 26 received, remove resto, CCS press....and hand to CGC for grading on 8/31..... 8/31/21 1 EXPRESS Shipped 9/8/21 ----- it's now a Blue 2.5, and not yet arrived. but the B) 3 express books.... still "CCS in Process" since 7/26....
  17. Walkthrough? Those still get fast turnaround. I'd bet you would have it back, I hand, graded by end of September if you sent it today.
  18. On the idea of books being delivered and just sitting - can confirm. I sent in multiple tiers in one box in Feb, forgetting to put any markings for Express on the outside. So my USPS receipt ahows they were handed to CGC in the first few days of March. They were not added to system as Received until March 21st. I'm happy to report that the last of the books, in Value tier, were just shipped on August 18th! SIX MONTH PLUS TURNAROUND!!! That's just brutal. + Their CCS pressing is also backed up. Express says 17 days, but mine will be at working day 19 as of Friday.
  19. I've sold over the past few years via ComicLink, Heritage and one other site. Comiclink is my chosen venue right now - due to repeated ease of upfront dealing and 10% commission. Heritage was 10% when I dealt with them, but that was a couple of years ago. I run an estimate off current prices (GPA/gocollect) before the auction, and then check my results. Comiclink has averaged out pretty well - some books disappoint, others get fought over - but the volume and quality of books being sold there (as the market has gone) had brought a lot of eyes/bidders. Over the past year to 2 years, 3 sales (of 20-50 books each) have brought results at 96, 98.5 and 110% of my estimates. Heritage results were within expectations as well. (I tend to sell GA, 40's, 50's horror, some silver age). I am kicking myself for selling that original owner Silver Streak #6 a few years back...but who knew? And a boardie here got it off CLink.
  20. WOW. - my BAD - dare not confuse the 2 - it's late, long week! MEA CULPA!!! *grovel grovel*
