  1. That is absolutely fantastic. I dream that one day I might own a book like that, but sadly I know it will never happen. Fortunately, I can live vicariously through collectors like yourself. Thanks very much (although I don't know whther to love you or hate you ). Never give up hope gpcove, maybe some day you will find a book like this in someones attic [/img]
  2. Maybe it's time to post some 1950's Detectives! This one is Feb 1950. [/img]
  3. I thought GGC identifies Page Quality. I don't see it on the label
  4. Awesome Detectives Just a side note Doiby I believe there is an ad for Batman # 1 on the interior front cover in your Detective # 42. I'm sure your aware of it
  5. I agree one of the best Bat covers. Is this issue restored? This rare issue is certainly on my want list!! These two gems have been posted before but is appropriate here. [/img] [/img]
  6. Excellent Tec 45 skybolt Nice page quality as well! Here is mine: [/img]
  7. This one I thought would grade 6.5, still not bad! [/img]
  8. O.K have tons slabbed and raw. Have posted my early ones in other threads so I will start with my favourite Joker cover! [/img]
  9. I think maybe because of the small upper right corner crease and a small color fleck on the spine. Maybe I'm lucky the book didn't come back Purple Label with small color touch covering the color flecks. Sometimes this kind of slight Restoration is hard to detect
  10. Bought this from Metropolis at the Chicago show 3yrs ago raw. They advertised this as a 7.5 in their opinion. After viewing the flawless interior I agreed and shipped it out to CGC. The results [/img]
  11. Thanks Doiby! At least you can read yours Crack that slab and enjoy it! I should because it's better than a 6.0
  12. I was very lucky to get this from J+S Comics about 7 yrs ago for a whopping $60.00 bucks. Was listed as VG at the time and when I opened the package I was on Only 4 copies slabbed to date, this being highest graded. There must be higher grade copies around that are not slabbed.
  13. Like the cover art on this scarcer Batplane issue!! [/img]
  14. That copy has great colors! Book has white pages great gloss but water damage and fanned pages. I do not want to restore and won't fit in CGC case. My guess is still a strong VG.
  15. Proudly had Jerry Robinson autograph this at a show in May [/img]
  16. Nice contribution! Except for that miswrap, this is quite a decent looking copy. You may even be able to resub for a higher grade (for the outer cover at least). It looks a little nicer than a F+ on the outside. Detective Comics and Batman double covers garner quite a bit of premiums lately as more high rollers are competing over them. I agree, I submitted this thinking an 8.0 especially with white pages. The interior cover is even better!! I may re-submit.
