  1. Yes I was thinking 7 to 7.5 myself. Bought it years ago from Metro before CGC and their team graded it 7.5.
  2. I'm thinking now of a resub since old labels are not in style. Rick was very close to market valuation!!
  3. Newmarket Comic and Card show May 27th Hello Everyone, I will be setting up at this small show in Newmarket Ontario Canada on May 27th. If you can make it, then you will be in for a treat if you collect Golden Age Batman's. Many slabs and raw books of some key books! Some notable books include Detective #67 and #140, Batman #23 and several copies of Batman #73 in various grades. Hope to see you there!
  4. Just wish I had the Canadian counterpart to go with this
  5. I wonder what a CGC 6.5 would bring in todays market?
  6. That's correct a Tec #187 is not that scarce in lower grades but over 6.0 then were not finding to many issues. It took me about 15 to 20 years to accumulate these. I have a few more as well and will post at a later date!! I have lost just as much as I have won at any various auctions. Some of these purchases were at conventions in the late 90's. Prices seem pretty high now so I think retirement for purchasing this issue is a consideration!
  7. Just need the front cover, but would have to dabble into my retirement funds if one came available
  8. This helps explain why copies go for so much when they come up for sale. Batmans and 'Tecs are pretty common, but 32 copies in one person's hands could contribute to an artificial scarcity. Do you hoard anything else or just this? I do have multiples of Tec # 200 and Bats # 73 that come to mind. Also have a few more Tec 187 not shown in photo. ive got some copies you can buy and add to your hoard Yikes,,Gator you tease me but for now my hoarding interest is elsewhere.

  10. I don't think I have posted here, but here they are
  11. I think I have about half of the population but who's counting?
  12. Get in line Looking for a front cover for years
  13. Yes I can't see me selling this one anytime soon and will be interesting to see what the 6.5 copy will bring at comic connect auction. When I purchased my copy raw many years ago the dealer graded close to vf as I recall. It truly is nice inside with sharp white pgs. The back cover is nice as well with no creases. As I recall it had a very slight tear at the staple but cover attached well. Remember this book has only one staple in the middle as war measures were conserving materials at the time. I guess the slight staple tear and a slight bend top right corner of front cover brought the grade down. Opps my mistake I just verified it is a two staple book and I think the staple tear was on the top staple

  15. I remember purchasing this RAW long time ago for $900.00
  16. Now I have competition to find a FRONT COVER I will congratulate you on your treasured pick-up
  17. I would be fibbing to say the Bat #1 is 9.4 unrestored so,,,,RESTORED!
  18. This book seems scarce in higher grade, only 3 higher from CGC census to date. The scan missed the full grade details, I can tell you it's a 8.0 with bright yellow with only a slight shadow upper right corner
  19. I purchased this from Metropolis "raw" at a Chicago Con about 12 years ago or so. I think they graded it VF- and priced just below a grand at the time. I hesitated buying it on the Saturday but by Sunday afternoon it was still at the table for me to purchase it. I inspected the book and agreed on the grade as well. Nice white pages with no folds inside but was concerned about possible color touch. Not because I could detect any but the blacks on the cover are stunning! Anyways off to CGC and came back 6.5,,close but expected at least a 7.0. I won't be parting with this one anytime soon
