On the JSC thread, there is a pic posted showing a signed JSC comic with COA bought at his booth without out him being there to sign in front of a witness but still qualifying for a gold SS label.

If this is now allowed by CGC, what keeps me from buying signed Aspen books by Michael Turner and getting them gold label?

Yes when i met him he was nice to me as well. Heard people say he's a person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed but it wasn't the case.

The one time I met him it was the last day of a con. He was over an hour late. When he did show up he ate his Starbucks breakfast in front of about 100 people waiting in line for 20 more minutes before signing. Then he only signed for an hour or so before he had to leave to catch his plane. The first person in line was a vendor with a sketch book that JSC spent half an hour sketching on.

The first interaction I had was about 6 years ago. He had offered up 10 sketch opportunities for $500 a piece about 2 months or so before a con. I paid for 2...one DC and one Marvel character.  When the con came, he had only done 1 of the 10 (not mine) and said he didn't have time to do them with sdcc coming up so he gave refunds after having the money for a couple months.

I strongly feel that he's only popular based on his talent and not on his personality...

Im not sure what the condolences were for either? Maybe since it didn't sell out immediately? I definitely liked the art a lot compared to what they originally were proposing. Im planning to crack it and get it signed by Dell'Otto and CGC SS graded.

I made this comment when they initially released the first pic that was horrendous.  It was for the first people that pre-ordered the Ultimate edition without seeing it.  A day or so later they changed the image...

The simplest answer usually is the correct one.  So in my opinion I think the sales are suffering is because of a lack of alignment.

Go see Thor in latest Avengers / Thor movies - go pick up a current Thor title its not him its Lady Thor.

Go see Hulk in Avengers / Hulk / Thor movies - go pick up a current Hulk title its not him its totally awesome hulk.

Go see Captain America  in Avenger / Captain America movies - go pick up a Cap current title its not really him, its Sam Wilson, well he's kinda there but always was a Hydra agent.

Go see Wolverine in the latest X-men / Logan movies - go pick up a current Wolverine title its not him its X-23, he's dead but there is a old man Logan around that is kinda him from another universe.

IP's I agree are the darlings and as far as I see things Marvel has their heads up you know where because nothing you see on or in the MCU even remotely tie into current books.

Plus what they did to the X-men last few years I'm out Marvel.  Like the authority said I'm out.....hello Indies2c

I think they're starting to see this now...

One last time for the slow.  There was a McFarlane book signed at a non sanctioned signing, the book was held until a sanctioned McFarlane CGC signing and turned in then.  That is against CGC rules and against the agreement with McFarlane.  I know a sig is a sig if it was witnessed and it happens all the time.  What doesn't happen all the time is that someone gets busted due to dumb noob.  It's unethical and goes against the creators wishes.  That can spell big trouble for CGC and possibly hurt McFarlane's relationship with NYComics who do stuff by the rules..  I know I know a sig is a sig right?

Cute....another keyboard crusader. I'll use smaller words for you. Do you know, for a fact, that this wasn't approved by McFarlane or by CGC?  As no one has heard from the other side, you don't just assume they're guilty because you want to catch someone so badly doing wrong.

  6. How much of this is creator initiated?  From what I understand, McFarlane for example chose to have private signings with facilitators because he felt his fans were being overshadowed by the "business fans" after CGC autos for resell. Most of the creators that have facilitators are usually in pretty high demand...could it be that they're doing it more so to have more time with fans as well as potential customers to the products they brought to sell?

I guess its possible that they updated the number before Gold went on sale. I remember seeing the number when I saw them on the site, but I dont remember looking on the day I bought them. It makes sense that they would both have a similar print run. If he really wanted to be shady, he could have just kept the extra books and sold them at his show booth. He would have sold them all and no one would ever know. I can't remember if his books are the same price at his booth as they are on the site.

I remember about 10 minutes before they went on sale that they were taken off the website for about 5 minutes or so...I was refreshing the page that I'd saved from the previous night. Maybe it was taken down to update the print run just before they went on sale...
