Little kids now are a lot different than little kids back then. I think that probably goes without saying. Books back then were most likely presented that way to appeal to kids. Now as you stated they are more “pin-up” like and more focused on just the art in general. No word balloons or anything teasing the story. They are appealing to the overall market. Which I’d say is 18-45 year olds. Maybe even older than 18. Just look at the price of these books. Kids aren’t paying that. Maybe their parents are but still. This conversation comes up a lot and I think the factors are obvious. Anyway, I think kids that are interested in reading comics probably like trades and hardcovers. Even adults that really care more about reading focus their collecting that way. It seems single issues are more for the art collector. Video games. You tube. That’s where the kids are IMO.

I didn’t even notice til tonight that my old Batman 11 2.0 restored was auctioned. Interesting sale price. I kind of miss it.

The price increase of this book is going to baffle the seasoned collector, I get that. It’s the press that’s doing it. People hear about it and want to buy one that don’t have much knowledge of comic prices and speculation tactics anyway, they just pay the price. And when that press is out there for millions to see it does make 115,000 seem like a small number. Really curious to see where this book is a month from now when more collectors receive their DCBS etc copies in the mail and when CGC fast tracks come back.

i really enjoyed this teaser. Make up seemed off at first but now I’m digging it. Joaquin is very talented I think he’ll do well.

How can anyone see the photo examples of this and still defend CGC’s Newton rings. It literally makes the book ugly. UNACCEPTABLE.
