  1. I still think there's massive future potential in these as a) JSC cover with MJ is always $ b) very few people in Hawaii compared to other cities, travel there is expensive. c) print run seems very low, listed at $90 on JSC site
  2. They'll still do Image Expo Variants, but yeah retailer incentive variants are do-do bird. Also they went all "punk rock" with it and gave the Walking Dead 150 B/W variant a 1:0 retailer non-incentive. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2015/05/15/image-scraps-retailer-exclusive-comics-for-exclusive-tpbs-because-of-speculation/
  3. I remember the Image days in the 90s but back then without the internet had no idea of the market shares, or that Marvel was in trouble. There's a lot of good insights imo in this, and the passion and love for the industry is evident in Eric's speech. Does he take a few subliminal shots at the Big 2? Maybe, but they aren't the only one doing retailer incentives, virgin limited print run variants, various retailer exclusives. I do think that Image and by proxy Eric Stephenson stand in a very different position then the rest of the industry, thanks to their business model, name recognition, and the current success of certain properties. However, comparing this to the DC and Marvel keynotes, this was a lot meatier.
