  1. I couldn't believe what it went for as well. That was a steal :headbang:

I thought about buying it and flipping it but after losing the the 93 I just assumed it would go as high and possibly higher. Crazy!

If I hadn't bought a Cap 19, Cap 27 and put the down payment on our Disney World trip I would have gone up to $600 on the 93. Very bad timing for these Sensations to come up for sale for me. :pullhair:

  2. I have a soft spot for these type of funny animals.

    Here's an uncommon one!

    Real Screen Comics 2 Sum-45

Very early Fox and Crow, Flippity and Flop, etc.

Very cool funny animal book. Too bad about the structural problems. If this were a money book, it would probably benefit from restoration.

    Jack

    Fox and Crow rule!

  3. Thanks, Bonds25 and shiverbones. :)

A few more arrived today. They aren't all horror though like the last batch I shared.

First up is an Authentic Police Cases #2. Canadian Edition. When I saw this I really liked the cover. So of course I had to pick it up.

    I love that cover :applause:

  4. Unfortunately when I list stuff I never get prices like this auction. Guess I need to use vague descriptions and no back cover pics.

I know the feeling. I was watching all those auctions yesterday. It was fun watching the crazy snipes come in. However, when I did a Heritage archival search of past auctions for those same issues, the buyers paid a hefty premium.

I did the same thing and felt exactly as you did.

  5. The 9.4 is worth much more than 30K.

how much more? last one sold for $29.9k. of course, that was a former 9.2. where's tim to correct me if i'm forgetting a few but i can think of two verified sales of silver age DC for north of $30k- the b&b #28 9.4 for $60k and a showcase #4 9.2 for $62k.

Last 9.4 sold for $29900 3 years ago and that had questions around it.

Last 9.2 sold for $27600 4 years ago.

Going on a limb I'm thinking the 9.4 is worth much more than $30,000 at this point.

  6. The problem with Cincinnati is this…

Decades ago the middle and upper class left the city for the suburbs. Big yards and great schools. These folks only returned to the city for sporting events and festivals. Then the crime moved into the city along with government housing. Cincy then got a few black eyes from the riots and unrest. Instead of fixing the problems city council wasted time on pet projects and listening to activists.

However, a slow change has been taken place over the past few years. High price inner city lofts and condos are replacing the empty buildings. Believe it or not the real estate was selling well until the housing market tanked. It appears people are beginning to move back into the city. The low income class and government housing is now being pushed out into the nearby suburbs.

With the banks project finally getting started I this process accelerating. I see a bright future for Cincinnati in 10 years.

A few years back Cincinnati was selected as the most Livable City in the USA. So don't knock us just yet.
