  1. But what parts are false ?? The price ? The buyer ? Both ?
  2. Another link on Scoop. https://scoop.previewsworld.com/Home/4/1/73/1017?articleID=254694
  3. I'm not "piling on" or defending Spencer but some of the sentiments in this topic are not breaking new ground. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/474291-repped-artist-websites-best-worst/#comments https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/464513-anyone-have-experience-buying-art-from-the-artists-choice/?tab=comments#comment-11056107
  4. Yes. I just put the link in my "Signature" under Account Settings.
  5. On Thursdays, on Comic Art Live (youtube), Bill Cox will cover the top sellers and top sales for the week. "Top sellers"... among the web sites that are managed by Bill. This is actually a couple dozen web sites, I think the latest is Catskill Comics. For example, as a premium member, when you use the keyword search and it turns up items on certain dealer web sites, these web sites are managed by Bill. Maybe adding previously sold art on their web sites might be the easiest way for dealers to record their own sales. That might be a reason why newly listed items on the web site are already marked as "sold". For example, I bought a piece that did not appear on the dealer's web site (or on Dueling Dealers, etc) but I know it was part of Bill's coverage.
  6. I usually have deliveries go to a PO Box. I had a recent HA purchase and they insisted on using FedEx (due to size). I asked them to send to one of their FedEx offices where I could pick it up. I got an e-mail notification and had to show ID before they could give it to me. That transaction was flawless. In a posting in another topic, someone mentioned he also having stuff delivered to a PO Box and always has to show ID. I recall showing ID only once in the 20 years or so that I've had a PO Box. Last December, I was getting a new phone FedEx'd to my street address. I saw the delivery notification that was timestamped 20 minutes before. Since I was expecting the delivery, tracking the status and checking outside about every 30 minutes, I figured I just missed it. I went outside and saw no package and assumed porch pirates. But I did see a FedEx truck driving by. Then the truck backed up. Then the driver handed me my package. That did not (and still doesn't) make any sense.
  7. After the Dave Berg piece, I'm just going to assume it's true of this and any future mentions. FWIW, I think every time I've pointed out a piece up for auction, I've stated that I was not the consignor and won't be a bidder.
  8. Leaving "sold" art on a web site is like the dealer saying, "See?? My prices are fair. Look at all this other art that I've sold." I commend Mitch for taking pieces down after they've sold.
  9. Once (a long time ago), I heard Adam Hughes mention that he no longer used blue pencil due it being unfair to the inker. The blue pencil could gunk up the pens. Re: buying/selling digital blue line pencils, the most important thing is research/disclosure. If buying from the artist's rep, you can get more information. Unless an artist's practices are well-known, after a time or when the art has changed hands a few times, that knowledge can be lost.
  10. Based on @GreatEscape 's video, I'm guessing Nostalgic Investments??
  11. Yes !! Ink on digital blueline pencils is a totally different discussion. There are a couple topics on that.
  12. Am I a bad person because stupid people crack me up? The question was: Has anyone seriously been burned by Rally Road yet? I'm interested in knowing if the mentioned losses are exceptions or part of a general trend. No comic books or comic book art was listed, so how's that been working out ?
  13. It's nice that you got the "for I am the Phantom Stranger" tag line.
  14. OP didn't say whether the art in question is published art or not. Sometimes you see a commission or convention sketch that was drawn (and signed) in pencil. And then it is inked and signed in ink by another artist. For me, that is a turn off. Comic books are a weird thing. In almost all other visual arts and commercial art, you usually don't see the art credited to more than one person (even if they had assistants/apprentices). And before digital technologies, the physical original comic art was handled by so many people besides the penciler and inker. You've got the letterer, someone indicating corrections and the bullpen making corrections. Going back further, someone had to indicate the color codes on the art. For comic book art, the penciler is a factor and the inker is a factor. Each requires different skills. As my tastes evolved, there are certain pencilers that I will totally avoid because I think too much work was left to the inker. One the other hand, if the inker had so much influence that the penciler's work isn't readily seen, that is also a turn off. It's very common to have a separate penciler and inker, so it's almost impossible to have a rule against it. But I also tend to like artists that usually ink their own work or they've demonstrated that they are very capable inkers.
  15. That page has some nice views of the city. Location, location, location !!!
  16. In an auction-type scenario, where Albert may be a bidder, this could avoid any conflict of interest.
  17. Which is which ? I got the White Tiger piece. My thought is Adams may have provided a layout but the rendering looks to be almost all Mike. I think the "Nasser/Adams" credit was written by Mike. It cost a lot less than Mike's Starspawn portfolio piece that sold on HA a few weeks ago.
  18. Also, even if the figures are a little small, nice team shot in the top panel of the 2nd one.
  19. For the Phantom Stranger fan, I'd pick the first one. More PS per square inch and more Phantom Strangery dialog. I can't see the first one costing more than the 2nd one. In general, I'd say the 2nd one would be priced 10 - 20% higher than the first one.
  20. Even if you're on CAF every day, the keyword searches and watchlist for member galleries definitely make it worth the cost.
  21. Rule: Posting an image on-line (e.g. in a CGC forum) would not make any art "published".
  22. Without knowing the story in question, in a similar situation... if I could complete a story by acquiring the last page at a cost that is in the neighborhood of the current market value, I would do it. There is some satisfaction in that. And you mentioned it's a great page in its own right, at least for that story. If it would cost unholy multiples to get the last page, to the point where you think you could get good (or better) art for the same cost, I would feel OK walking away. Collecting comic art is a luxury, you can rationalize overpaying. You can't rationalize feeling ripped off.
  23. So you had a deal in place to buy the entire story and then the rep and artists sold that page? Did you find out about that before or after receiving the pages ? From your first post, I thought you were trying re-assemble the story but this sounds much worse. If I thought I had a deal for an entire story and then a page got pulled, I would've called off the deal. There was an ebay auction for entire un-inked/unpublished complete story. Before buying, I asked the seller to confirm all the pages were there. He confirmed. Upon receipt, one of the pages was missing. I asked about the page. Then he admits he didn't really count the pages.
  24. The doctor is IN 😂 Would definitely cost more than 5 cents !!
  25. That is a.... great escape room !!! But who would ever want to leave ?!?
