  1. To summarize: Good call on the blue lines.
  2. As of now, the Batman Beyond listing says "10% of the sale of this item will benefit Book Industry Charitable Foundation" The Big Barda and Doomsday are at 95%. I think the listing needs some tweaking. I sent an e-mail via ebay. Good on Jim Lee and others for using their talents to help.
  3. Adam Warren. I just started. A great talent.
  4. For the right Kirby page, you'll probably blow waaaay past $1,000.
  5. The movie is a little cheesy. Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour, Christopher Plummer. But I've seen it a few times and it grows on you. Considering that I generally don't like movies based on time-travel, that's a real compliment. And it does have a cult following, hence the convention.
  6. FYI GCD lists 16 issues of Pizzazz. It seems to have a partial index and credits for certain things. But it doesn't look like entire issues are indexed. The art credits might be listed in the index of the actual magazine. The picture looks like you might have the entire issue intact.
  7. CAF doesn't enforce an "art only" rule or ban on prints. It looks like the one on CAF dates from the late 70's. I've heard that Disneyland/Disney World had authorized artists that would draw for kids at their parks. So maybe that is one of them. Also, it seems like your drawing came in some kind of Disney matte. I'd guess that yours is also from the same period. Does yours have a Disney logo like the one on CAF ?? Is it original ? You should be able to tell if the pencil lines are original.
  8. Just a guess... but it looks like it says "Jerry Stout" Here's an example on CAF: https://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=798470
  9. Re; NJ show As per Facebook, cancelled. https://www.facebook.com/Comic-Art-Con-148649101838277/
  10. I take issue with the "illustrated Rio". You should use the soap to wash off the faucet knobs, using your elbow is unnecessary. Perhaps Sal B can revise. Obsessive compulsive hand washers... this is our time !!! Rise up and take what's yours !!! Note, I am not germ phobic. I am germ aware.
  11. Does today's stock market close ( down over 7%) affect anyone's HA buying/bidding tonight ??
  12. It's more striking b/c the rest of PS is in light grays.
  13. For some of my covers, I've been getting slabbed copies. Usually 9.8s. Some are 9.6s. Also, I have a few lower grade slabs even though I don't have any art from that issue. I just felt like it, they have nice covers. One of them is a 9.8 that looks like it was pressed, hard to hide that on covers with a lot of black. I don't plan on doing this for very much longer. I keep them lying flat in a file box and it's filled up (about 15 slabs). One more box and that is most likely the end. Overall, I don't care about SS or pedigrees. But some are pedigrees.
  14. Steve Rude has an interesting minimalist version of Kirby. He has an obvious respect for Kirby. A key difference is Rude doesn't go "out of proportion" like Kirby tends to do, in my opinion. How would that look if Rude's proportions did go a little wacky ?? I think Mike Royer is also open to commissions. Maybe get them to pencil and ink ??
  15. Fanzine ?? Probably better off posting in a Star Trek board.
  16. Very unfortunate. But it takes more effort to buy/sell a story intact. Also, the theoretical discount of buying an intact story has been discussed but it's still an expensive proposition. A few personally significant stories were sold as separate lots (I assume at the consignor's direction): * In 2018, ComicLink started auctioning Nick Cardy's 22 pages to Brave & Bold 96 (Batman/Sgt Rock) as separate lots. * In 2018, HA started auctioning Mike Nasser's 8 page story ("12 Parts") as 8 separate lots in their weekly auctions. * In 2017, ComicConnect auctioned Mike Nasser's 30 page story (Hang the Batman ) and Marshall Rogers' related cover as separate lots during a single auction. Re: cutting up art Many of Stan Drake's later Heart of Juliet Jones strips were comprised of headshots he cut out of OA from earlier strips. And Steve Ditko's apparent harsh treatment of his own art has been previously discussed.
  17. Funny how the bottom tier is at the top of your collection. I thanked Len Wein, Marv Wolfman, etc for saving my golden age Black Canary splash and panel page. http://cafurl.com?i=24289 http://cafurl.com?i=24288 I think Bernie Wrightson was also one of the "cutters".
  18. Shifting the previews for the next week's auctions is also throwing me off.
  19. I kind of misread this. I thought you actually got the box signed. That would be a great excuse for keeping the box.
