  1. Yes, among the all time best for sure! Adding to what Flex wrote: in my experience, most issues between #1-20 come up very infrequently, in any grade (especially #14 and #15, but nearly also #2, #5, #6, #8, #10, #13, #17); issues #21-40 come up infrequently; issues #41-64 are relatively easier to find, if grade isn't a priority; and issues #65-73 (especially #65) are infrequent.
  2. Thanks a lot Flex. Happy to give it a good home where it will find a like-minded community of Planet comic books. No doubt Rick will have his day in the ? !
  3. Thanks! Feels good — this book and just one other (pending) will fill all the rivets.
  4. Rick: we seriously need to plan this better! We have an unfortunate habit of going after the same things. Though in this instance I thought you already had a copy... On the bright side, you won’t find me pushing up the bids the next time it comes along!
  5. Huh. No longer cleaned, but also, now presenting one point higher. Is the conclusion that the graders automatically knock down the grade (by a whole point) if a book is cleaned? I would think that the "restored" designation would be a sufficient penalty on the book, without its also being assigned a lower numerical grade. Confusing, this science of grading.
  6. Such a great cover! And the screaming red on this copy! Not to mention the lurking spider-face-thing in the web. Congrats.
  7. Just one piece for me. Lily Renee, Planet Comics #37 (July 1945), "The Lost World" splash page. Thanks to @Ricksneatstuff for alerting me to this Best of 2017 site. http://www.comicartfans.com/LowryPiece.asp?Piece=9517
  8. Cool book! And you've got quite the sig line!!!
  9. Impeccable taste and rapid-action timing as always!
  10. Haha. Thanks! Well, one of these days your whole Planet collection will be trademarked, no doubt. It's that good!
  11. Sort of like this? --> I really think I better get a hold of myselfDon't wanna let the night get ahead of myselfWhisperin' her love through a smoke ring smileShe doesn't know what happens when she's around I think I'm in loveBut it makes me kinda nervous to say soI think I'm in loveBut it makes me kinda nervous to say so... 12. Nope, too obvious. It is the fact that one cover has fire and one cover has water. Like Torch and Subby, forever entwined.
  13. Yes, nice to see some action on this Quality thread! Here’s a two-fer:
  14. My problem is more dire. There's at least 10 covers in my top one. Though my rivet run short list would be #2, 6, and 10.
  15. Not a bad way to start things off. The amazing range and quality of the books posted on these boards continues to give me a case of the
  16. Ushering in 2018 with the paradox of a fish in bathing trunks toasting a marshmallow.
  17. That is such an amazing book! One of Lou Fine’s best National Comics covers imho.
  18. What they said. I love her blasé could-care-less attitude while being slowly turned into cannibal stew.
  19. Sheesh. It was slim pickings when I had a look. Talk about being quick on the draw!
  20. Oh, FANTASTIC BOOK by the way. Twilight is king. Thanks for the pic!!!!! Guess your friends aren't laughing so much now.
