  1. Thanks to @Junkdrawer for launching this thread. So many great books here on the boards -- such a satisfying stroll through the GA of funny books! I've whittled down my 2017 purchases to these 3: (1) Science Comics #4. Arrived just in time for 2017! Berk collection and highest graded. The photo doesn't begin to do justice to the incredible cover gloss. (2) Planet Comics #6. Hard to find in any grade. Berk collection. My first Larson. Fanged bird monster and lots of tiny people bots. (3) Wonder Comics #2. Fox's second outing and "last" issue. Lou Fine and a hypnotized giant ape. Nuff said.
  2. I'm glad to hear things have worked out with this book. An iconic cover. It has found a good home I'm sure!
  3. Best evidence yet that I need an "Ace" or two up my sleeve. Those are mighty fine books!!! And Berk to boot!
  4. Great stuff Gino! You're gonna have to expand your awesome sig line!!
  5. And I’ve been looking for a #45 with sweet reds for a long time. Jeremy delivers!!!
  6. Yep, GA prices are stratospheric these days. Good for sellers anyhow. By “big purchase” I guess I was paraphrasing “best selling books” in Knightsofold’s post above. A lot of the “best selling books” -- at least those commanding very high prices -- are the early WW and Sensation books, along with All-Star 8 of course. And then there is the inevitable trickle-down effect on rising prices for lower-grade key books and even non-major-key books. Maybe @Knightsofold has some additional insights about what he meant by “best selling books”...
  7. Sounds like you made the wiser choice way back when! So do you plan to assemble the kit? Will it still glow?
  8. I agree. Last year I posted a bunch of times in the WW thread but never found there to be a whole lot of dialogue and banter, with long runs of cricket chirps in between posts. (Maybe due to the quality of my posts! ). The thread eventually fell off my radar. I think it’s picked up a bit with the movie, but not much. Perhaps/probably it’s just that most of the big book WW purchases are made by non-boardies.
  9. Ditto. The GA boards have led me to books I would never have discovered otherwise. In fact, I blame the GA boards for ALL of my bad habits.
  10. Love it! Infinity cover! And this issue features one of the best Batman villains ever (IMHO): Professor Radium.
  11. The good folks at CGC took a stab at tidying up this book. I think the outcome was net positive, especially along the left edge. BEFORE: AFTER:
  12. Great cover! And I’ll bet that “Beebo, The Wonder Horse” story is galloping with excitement!
  13. That's a great set of Planets!! Love the neon colors on #35.
  14. Hey! Isn’t that Mr. Bedrock in the spacesuit, top panel, second cosmonaut from the right, chap saying “O.K.” ??
  15. I don't think that lion loves Sheena, but he's in the minority. Any splash pages worth featuring here from your Cosmic Aeroplane?
  16. Thanks for those insights, Dr. Love! I think Murphy Anderson and Dan Zolnerowich also landed with P.S. Magazines or a related outfit producing similar material for the armed forces in the 50's.
  17. Wonder if there's any extant copies of Wow out there...
  18. Nah. The interior pages are blank -- they're just used as filler so that the comic book fits nice and snugly in the plastic case!
