  1. I totally agree. There is something timeless about those early pre-Z Planet covers, with their colors and compositions. Not to take anything away from the great Zolnerowich of course!
  2. I'm totally thrilled about my **first** Fox Features comic book!!! The artist, the colors, the hypnotized x-ray see-through lady... what more could one ask for?!? (I suppose the obvious answer to that question would be Weird Comics #1.) Thanks to Straw-Man for pointing me to this board.
  3. Took me a while just to figure out what OO means!
  4. Flex, thanks for those great Fight Comics covers! I have a new-found appreciation for that title. Fight #44 is sheer craziness, with that spinning water wheel that seems to defy the laws of physics.
  5. Wow. This "8.0 or better" challenge has me truly in awe. Those are all amazing Planets. Wish I could compete! My own humble offering doesn't meet the 8.0 challenge, but does contain an assortment of some of my raw Planets, which are ~4.0-6.0 range, give or take. As you can see, the comics are housed in a 3 x 3 frame, with individual Mylar pockets. The comics can be switched out as desired, which I do every couple of months. Sort of like a rotating exhibit. (The white grainy stuff along the right edge of Planet 16 is reflection on the Mylar, not the comic.)
  6. Not it! I cashed out on the Planet 14 with ComicConnect.
  7. Hi Fiction House enthusiasts. I'm relatively new to the boards. I was also out of town last week, which is why I'm late to comment/post on the ComicConnect Planet Comics #14. I was the winning bidder of #14. And am very excited! So many bizarre things on that cover... When I saw my bid for the Heritage Auctions version of Planet #14 get smothered, I re-energized for the ComicConnect version. Price-wise it seems like the CC #14 @ 4.0 was more or less on scale with the HA #14 @ 5.0. Actually golddust40 was right: there was not really any extended bidding. I put in a bid a few minutes before the end, and was surprised (and pleased) that it didn't budge any further.
  8. Those are amazing! What a fortunate re-find. Are they from the newspaper comic strip? Do you know what dates they appeared? I love that talking flying rabbit. What else is up on those closet shelves of yours?
  9. That is pretty...what is the grade? The grade is CGC 6.5. I'm very tempted to take it out of the slab and have a good read. I'll lend you the archives;) although I VERY nice believe in reading the comics. That's a great book! Yes, there's always the archives. But the archives publishers haven't figured out how to recreate the smell of a Golden Age comic book yet...! BTW thanks everyone for your nice comments. If anyone has recent HG Peter-era WW acquisitions to post, I'd love to see them.

  11. Who is Steve? I assume you're not referring to Steve Trevor!
  12. My first entry on the WW thread. Just picked this up recently. Great colors. You can almost smell the opium floating off that pipe!
