  1. Pleasant Surprises in Bed to UNpleasant surprises in Bed
  2. I had that in my hands once and have still never seen another
  3. Captain America 1. I think although cool Marvel 1 isn't as relevant as it is now kinda like Tec 27 to Action 1 but both are still very cool.
  4. That is correct. But we know that AF15 back is trimmed. We do not know for sure the labels are proper and that the books indeed are restored. CGC makes countless errors although nobody wants to believe it. Although I do understand that to the public eye the case is "certain" then again the public doesnt know how to grade. If you actually stop to consider it and look at my track record otherwise it's not a ridiculous argument. It's clean, heck even check my Kudos thread! I don't see a line of people claiming anything bad based on experience only speculation about the character labels. If rumors defined a person, tabloids would be the New York Times. On 12/28/2020 at 2:34 PM, seanfingh said I purchased a large lot of Warren Magazines from an original owner. He kept them in amazing shape. Many of them came back after being signed 9.6. One of them came back 9.6 Purple and it was determined that there was a dot of ballpoint pen ink on the cover. The only real explanation was that at some point either the newsstand, the OO or myself dropped a ball point pen on the cover. At the time I was having it reviewed, I asked whether they were analyzing whether the ink was damage, or whether it was attempted CT - my thought being that if it didn't clearly appear to be done to improve the looks of the book, then it should just be plain old damage. At the time they were pretty adamant that they were not in the business of making value judgments about stray ink. I thought that was kind of interesting at the time. I tell that story because most of the posts are assuming that someone engaged in CT actively, when it could just as easily (and possibly more logically) be stray ink that was not intentionally placed on the book, but is there nonetheless. Is the guy above unethical? Absolutely not. and that has a decent chance of what happened to those 3 comics but nobody not me, you, or CGC knows for sure. You could argue that CGC isnt credible here because their quality control is so bad that they put the books in the wrong labels the first time. (and then did it again a week later but then again you guys didnt see that Hulk 1 because I learned from before to not trust their labels and immediately sent it back for reholdering which took a freaking month), me purely because of a conflict of interest from an ethical standpoint, and nobody here is credible because nobody has damn examined those books. Maybe I should send them to a truly independent restoration appraiser.
  5. I don't recall seeing that. It could have been quietly edited or might have been there all along. But the fact remains they are STILL selling a trimmed book as untrimmed. That's unethical. period
  6. yet somehow, I'm the one who posted this thread not you; Perception is not absolute reality. I guess you guys think selling trimmed books as unrestored is ok or something. I think what they did is bad, but do whatever you want, it is a free country.
  7. People often says I'm gonna grade this book, that's just a figure of speech. I'm sorry if that is confusing for you because it actually kinda is! Most people don't even stop to consider the resto check part or missing pages etc ; "Getting it graded" involves grade AND resto check. The purpose of this thread is discussing Metropolis's trimmed (undisclosed) raw AF15 available right now. Please save all grading comments for another thread.
  8. This thread is relevant to RESTO CHECK not grading
  9. this is the SAME argument I made about those 3 character label books.
  10. Maybe it was unrestored and CGC made a mistake! I mean they are not PERFECT
  11. Well if Af15 is the same for you as Giggle 3 you are immortally doomed.
  12. You are correct. I actually didn't look closely at the front scan, went to the back and my eyes popped out. Yeah this does LOOK trimmed on the top and bottom edge. But then again guys, that Dylan he's an unethical piece of comics (although nobody has ACTUALY stated a negative experience and gotten a book that was restored that was described as unrestored.) If that whole fiasco was over CGC graded comics why is there no frenzy over something RAW?! That's pretty unjust Introducing Metropolis the world's LARGEST comic book dealers (as said in their placing you on hold recording)...
  13. Well the actual reason is because of the signature books that have a "guaranteed TAT." When candy bar companies wanted to make more money back in the day they had 2 main choices on the front end to the consumer: Charge more or give you less. The same went for comic books.
  14. Back Left Edge. But then again, some people on the boards don't think I know how to grade so please.... carry on.

  16. 1.0, looks like glue on the first wrap also. would be 9.9 if CGC detached both staples and didnt make it right
