  1. You see so few of these with the "L" in learn fully visible.
  2. What's the deal with the 1st Peggy Carter apps? ToS 75 (cameo) and 77 (1st full) regarding the recent news that she becomes Cap? Is that just some type of What if story/animated, or a real deal future movie thread? Those ToS books are still very affordable.
  3. For real? How can a big con NOT have an art dealer, or two?! I have heard something like this. I have been going since it was at the Back Bay center. Don't think I will be going again.
  4. Well said. And, they don't come much nicer than Barry Kitson.
  5. I love JJ's expression..."he was right under my nose!!" nice 9.0+s. All of em.
  6. I posted about this in my Terrificon thread, but it's Silver Age, so yay. I was looking to upgrade my ASM 66 at the show. I found a booth that was offering 30% off and they had some nice Spideys. I found a 66 that was in nice shape. I took it out of the bag and looked it over and as I opened the cover to check the PQ, I saw this... Whaaaa? I have never seen a double cover in the wild...and on a book I was looking for...and SA. What are the odds?
  7. The Fraim Brothers did the original layout, based on the Hush gatefold cover, which included the blimp, spotlights, and bat signal. They are here at the show also and did the finishes on all of it, bringing the whole thing full circle.
  8. Just finished this here at Terrificon. 4+ years. I love how it came out.
  9. You won't be disappointed. I have been going for 8 years.
  10. Found an amazing spiderman 66 double cover (maybe 7.0 outer, 8.0 inner) at a booth offering nice discounts. Paid under $50 for it. I have never found a double cover in the wild, so a SA is a big bonus on top.
  11. Yes, but the whip-line lamp post trick is not happening!
  12. I have some early access so I thought I would post some pics. This expo center at Mohegan Sun is huuuge. A well run show that caters to comics and creators with a dash of celebs. Top quality artists, writers, and dealers.
  13. I wouldn't have afforded this in a blue label, and as Qualifieds go, "5th wrap married" is pretty benign, so I am counting this as a win. And at about half the price of a current blue.
  14. Yeah, that is how I was looking at it. I picked the book up, ASM 13 married 5th wrap, 5.0 ow. I don't see me regretting this. Plus I had 10 hours ot yesterday.
  15. I edited to include mid grade SA. I wouldn't afford a blue label in this grade, but a complete green label is tempting. I have never heard of GLOD!
  16. I am watching a book on ebay...it is a green label mid grade SA key. Complete, no resto, but with a married wrap. Is there a general percentage that can be applied that would allow me to compare the value between a blue label and green of the same book? 30% less, maybe?
  17. The thread is back up and he mentioned something about a Preacher 1? Is there something about that book?
  18. And as to the original question - an uncertified signature of a relatively accessible creator would increase the value of the book almost nothing. Graham Nolan may charge $5 each, and the added value would be about that...tops. I have several short boxes of signed books, from dozens of creators. Several have passed on, but even those, I don't think, would have major added value.
  19. I will never own an Amazing Fantasy 15, but I absolutely could own an ASM #1. My question is, and I am sure it has been asked before but I am having no luck with the search function, assuming that ASM #1 is the 2nd app of Spidey, why doesn't CGC note it on the slab? He is kind of and important character and that is a key book. Thanks, and/or thanks for linking a previous topic that answers the question.
