Any FF 5 with a cover is worth preserving with a slab. This book is stupid expensive now.

I gotta go 8.5

I am thinking maybe a 4.0 qualified because apart of the story is affected with that tear on the last picture.

The status is as a whole still the books are scarce and sales are holding up strongly. Gonna slowly trudge the road of wallet damaging, accumulating satisfaction.

I have an ASM 300 with a similar defect but smaller. It would be a 9.4-9.6 if it didn't have it but it came back a 9.2. I would guess your copy is a 8.5, maybe a 9 on a good day.

A really nice ASM 1 5.0 OW/W with no marvel chipping sold for 17k the other day on eBay. That is the softest sale on a huge silver age key I have seen in a while. Maybe the overall price drop in assets are starting to hit big collectibles.

we entered a bear market in march 2020, it did not last that long. but now we have oil prices pushing issues.
I think we never left the bear market we just papered over it when interest rates fell to zero and all that stimmy was printed to prolong the damage created by covid lockdowns. Now we have a huge problem with inflation and they have no choice to raise rates once again and tighten monetary policy which is gonna cause unemployment to rise as well. Not looking good right now for the next couple years.

I think many dealers will hold back books until prices rise again…I hope you can achieve your collecting goals within the upcoming constraints
Some will but there is a point where many people need cash and you can only get so much on 1 to 5 dollar BIN'S. L

Investors maybe, as a collector I wanna see prices crash. I am trying to complete runs and there are still many silver age comics I need to reach my goal. As you know Jonah the Spideys aren't cheap.

I hope so. Stocks and crypto are getting creamed right now. Many comics, even big bronze keys are already correcting but I want to see what happens with the Silver Age megas here shortly. They have held up well but I don't see how they can hold these parabolic gains enjoyed over the last 2 years.

eBay is rampant with scammers right now. You will find dozens of listings with IH 181 for example that say "sold" for 10 to 20% what the comic is worth but when you click on it the listing has been deleted. Which is why be careful when you use eBay sold listing as accurate data for comic values right now.

That sunlight though?
Looks great otherwise 😉
Just ordered blinds. Not much light on that side of the basement anyways. The wife and I already discussed that. Thanks for the concern though. I don't want those sun faded. 😁😁
