Ask for references. (Insist, actually.) I suggest you ask in the thread, which is standard etiquette for newbies (certainly includes anyone selling on board for first time). Many newbs have sold a while on ebay- a long history there has generally been good enough for me. Others have sold to board members, and will give the references in thread. Would stay far away from a 13 reply newb who never sold on board, even if they report 'many sales on instagram' or something- which imo is useless without someone you know and trust vouching for the newb.

Presumably you could recreate the scenario that leads to lost package. But of course you won't describe the process here, that would be counterproductive (like publishing how to make bombs from household chems). So, basically we're on notice that getting a USPS "tracking #" does not always mean a package is on its way to us? Am I correct in assuming this "lost package" scenario you stumbled upon generates a tracking # ?

My favorite bronze age cover!! Was 'cover' on a loose-leaf binder sold in 70s. I like it too but obviously biased because I once had one of those binders.
