You get a savings on the en-route and return shipping when you send in a large batch of books. You also pay a $5 handling fee and a separate return shipping cost (registered mail, FEDex or UPS) for each tier.

It is important to note that you get charged a separate handling and return shipping fee for each tier.

For example, if you send 1 modern book and 1 value book you will pay the grading fees for each and you will also pay shipping and handling of $37 for each book and they will ship back separately. If you send 10 moderns and 10 values the shipping and handling costs for each book would be $5.40 per book. You also save on the shipping to CGC since you could package all 20 raws in a large box at once.

The shipping rates for registered mail are below. You can use FEDEX and UPS as well but they only insure up to $100 so depending on the book values that may make sense.

I wouldnt trust the shipping prices they have listed. Those are only estimated prices and you are still responsible for whatever price the ACTUAL shipping cost ends up being.

  2. Dont call the seller names if you dont want to insult them. Otherwise offer what you want, you may get ignored or they say no dice.

ex of a bad offer: Hey you stupid turd, how about I give to $200 for that hulk 181 you have and you can thank me for also not screwing your wife/girlfriend/mother.

ex of a good offer: Hi, Would you consider x dollars for x book. Thanks for your consideration.

Sooooo....  I guess I owe CGC an apology.  The book came back and I see the scuffing their talking about and I can see why it got the 8.0.  The scuffing was on the back which is black and I "suuuuppppoose" I thought it was part of the picture.  I'll try and grab a clear shot tomorrow.  I never manage to get quality shots of black covers in slabs with artificial light.

Grades are for the entire book not just the cover, so lesson learned.

Not interested in getting into debates with children over kiddies comic books, you all need to get back to that 9-5 and respect your companies salary and its intend to create revenue for the business rather than arguing on forums. See you all on "My 400lb life". ^^

I think we can chalk one up to "rage quit" as well. Bound to be followed up more dumb comments.

Yeah, you're absolutely right on the math part (and I wish money wasn't an issue). I think I was just kind of surprised/frustrated by some of the grades when I started this thread. I'm still not amazing at grading my own books/knowing when to press and when not to no matter how much I read up on it all.

I make notes of the books I send in with the defects I see and what I think is the grade. Then compare with what I get back. Its a good learning tool if you arent able to send for pre-screening or if the books are older and you know its not going to get a 9.8

I received a mail from CGC that my books where received , so when i track "my submisions" they appear as "received" its been one week or more that they appear under that status ,. Is that time normal? Also they haven`t charged me yet , when are they going to charge me?

Yes its normal you'll probably have to wait longer before seeing updates online. They dont charge you until the books are almost ready to be shipped back. If they are getting pressed you will get charged once they are pressed. They might charge you multiple times if shipping is more than originally quoted.

Hello -- new guy here again.  I am packing my first batch of submissions for grading. When i signed up for the Premium Membership, it said i would get a credit for grading services as part of the membership. During checkout, there is no sign of the credit, and no easily visible way to request it be applied. How do i make sure i get the credit before finalizing payment on this submission?

    Thanks,
    Louie

You dont get charged until the books are getting ready to ship back to you. So even though you enter payment info for the invoice online nothing happens for a while.

As for the credit, they will apply it before charging the payment method. Doesnt hurt to add a comment to use credit when finalizing online.

  8. I love the BCW plastic boxes for graded books. A bit of a pain to assemble but incredible sturdy and stackable. I have mine stacked 3 high so far. There is a little wobble, but thats probably since they are on carpet or maybe since they are in California.

    Their instructions were concise.

If you got charged shipping 3 times, then I am guessing that you had it signed/sketched twice? If so, that means the book had to be shipped 3 times. #1: From Artist A to Artist B; #2: From Artist B to CGC; #3. From CGC to you.

Correct me if I'm wrong about the change of custody, there.

I have no idea what he is complaining about, first it was about mixed tiers and now its about the creator agreement?
