  1. Thanks for the run down on what you saw at San Diego. I always ask myself is SDCC really worth the trip to find books - I think I am fine with going to Heroes Con next year, which will be a first for me. I have noticed lately at some of the bigger cons I have been to, like Planet and C2E2, that a lot of GA books are pretty pricey even for low grades. At the same time I am feeing like I am also seeing fewer GA books at these cons and few if any at smaller regional cons. That said, something you said about those looking for 70s books, reminded me of a conversation I just had with @D Stuart about how SA books seem to be pricing themselves out of most peoples budget and so they are focusing on BA books before they get pricey as well. Anyways . . . thanks for the report and hope to hear some more.
  2. Alright, well I guess I am going to be coming up for this on Saturday and Sunday. Hope to find some great books!!!!
  3. Let us know what you think. If I did not have a one-day show that weekend I would serious think about going.
  4. The Ike one did seem to sell really high to me as well. I was watching the Studebaker and The Red Iceberg pretty closely . . . my bids were also blown out of the water.
  5. Yeah missed everything I wanted :(
  6. Darn it I take a nap and @Comcav buys everything I want!!!!
  7. Yeah - if it is completely dead then I will be out. I hate to do that but . . .
  8. Yes, I have! But, I am constantly finding promotional comics that there are no records of or do not even pop up in a Google search. These seem to largely be regional or local comics with low print runs.
  9. I have been picking up several golden age promotional comics that I have found interesting in conjunction with anticommunists comics from the time period as well. Though I can find plenty of information on the anticommunist comics, the promotional comics have proven to be a little more difficult in finding documentation on what exactly is out there. Most likely this is because they are just not sought out after and are as collectible. I was wondering if anyone had a reference, source or something that might provide me with some info on what exactly is out there, besides just searching through various auctions sites. THANKS!!!!!
  10. I thought about going, but changed my mind out as there will me a first year show in Lee Summit, MO that I though I would give a shot. Please let us know how it goes.
  11. Avengers #3 - SOLD TO JAYDEE Some color breaks on the spine as seen in the second picture. On the back lower cover there is some smudging in third picture. The book is really nice overall and would put this as a mid grade book.
  12. Avenger #2 - SOLD TO JAYDEE Chip is missing off of the back cover with some ink smudging and staining. Interior of the book is fine an the front cover presents very well. The missing corner and smudging on the back make this a little bit more subjective for me to grade. I think worst case scenario I cannot see this coming back any lower than a 3.5 - though I think this would grade higher.
  13. Iron Man #4 - $180 This book is in amazing condition. Only major issue is the little writing on the back cover. I would say not taking the writing on the back into consideration I would put this in at 7.0 ish.
  14. Iron Man #3 - $90 Very sharp cover colors. There is tanning along the edges that also exist within the interior of the book. Please note the back cover picture to see this. Again would say a mid grade issue.
  15. Iron Man #2 - $100 Solid book with a nice spine and firmly attached. Some slight discoloration throughout the book as indicated in the bottom picture. I would say a nice mid-grade copy.
  16. Good Evening! This is for copies of Iron Man 2, 3, and 4; & Avengers #2 and 3. All of the books are in pretty nice condition and I have provided details of any issues with the book to the best of my ability. I am open to reasonable offers, especially on multiple books. If you have any questions about a book please feel free to post in thread or send me a PM. I can provide additional pictures if needed. I lack a scanner and apologize for the picture quality. Shipping cost is included within the price of the book. Books will be sent Priority Mail and orders totally more than $500 with be sent with signature confirmation. First in thread or via PM gets the book, normally trumping any ongoing negotiations. Payment via Paypal within 48 hours is needed. If you are outside of the U.S. please send a PM first. I have had several issues in the past with international shipping and rather you touch base with me first, which means we may have to adjust the total cost to include shipping cost. I am happy to accept any return on a book as long as I am contacted within four days after you receive the book. Return shipping will be at buyers expense. I can provided references upon request. Thanks for your interest Add, what I think is a VERY conservative grade.
