  1. Only if it’s detected but there’s a chance of “conserved” 🤣
  2. My attitude towards collecting is I buy it because I want it not because I NEED it and have always funded my love of the hobby the same way. If I have the disposable income to pick up a few books here and there, great. If it’s something on the higher end pricewise, I have less expensive books I can sell or trade that can be more easily replaced at a later date. I can also accept there are books that are just beyond my reach and doing without has always been pretty normal for me. I’ve also come across “opportunities” but having a conscience is a good way to keep the hobby fun for me.
  3. If you bought anything, did you keep a receipt? Most places addresses are printed on their receipts.
  4. Went back and revisited some old posts…man, this place used to be jumpin’ anyways, here’s something I did last night. Would love to see this thread come back to life
  5. Wouldn’t that be hilarious if the buyer were to start a similar thread because the op has yet to ship said book?
  6. Your best bet and a rule I follow before making any purchase is to check their feedback. Problematic sellers usuall have multiple negative and neutral reviews that detail what the problem is although this option is abused by some buyers, sometimes this can be obvious sabotage but that;s up to you to decide
  7. Great topic. I can vividly remember drawings I’ve done dating back to when I was a 3 year old (50+ years ago) but unfortunately, none of it has survived that I could contribute to the thread. Occasionally, I have bumped into old acquaintances that will bring up days from our childhood when they would ask for a drawing of something that has been packed away in an old box in their folks attic for decades, promising to send a photo if they ever get around to it but I never hear back from them. The same older brother that introduced me to the comics world would always encourage me to practice my artwork but I haven’t heard from him in ages either. Pretty sad now that I think about it but “it is what it is”.
  8. From the pioneer of comic memes
  9. I believe Ryan Reynolds plays Hannibal in one of the Blade movies. Kristofferson’s character was “Whistler” in all of them.
  10. This came to mind but not sure you’d want to detach the Rocketeer portion from your book
  11. This guy’s reviews crack me up even though he completely destroys a part of my childhood with every video post
  12. For the time, this was peak martial arts entertainment with Sho Kosugi ninja movies coming out left and right among others. It was a pretty popular genre. I remember transferring my copy to dvd back in the late 90s, 4:3 aspect ratio, tracking lines and all because I couldn’t find an official dvd release anywhere. Still a guilty pleasure film I might watch every now and then
  13. Ironic considering how revealing the costumes can be during Brazilian Carnival
  14. Glad it came up since I’ll be aware of the issue as I continue to build my collection
  15. This was the first thing that came to mind and my thought was, “is there some chemical/agent in the cover paper that would cause a pest to reject it and if so why not avoid the book entirely?”. The jagged edges gave me the impression it had come from mice but being unfamiliar with the history of the Warren manufacturing practices made your post educational for me
