  1. Pleasure doing business. Books look even better in hand. Thanks again
  2. “You tore my favorite shirt, sucka! Now Luke Cage is gonna stomp a mudhole in yo backside!” (At least, that’s how I think he’d say it)
  3. Maybe it’s a signed variant too
  4. a few more added from the G/S/B sales threads
  5. If the “child” from customer service I spoke to about a week ago is any indication of the intelligence level over there, there’s your answer
  6. New gimmick? We should be seeing Infinity Gauntlet, Mandarin Rings and Green Lantern variant books doing this. Maybe the star on Wonder Woman’s tiara?
  7. He’s accepting offers too. I personally don’t think the grading is off although the writing on the cover might put some buyers off
  8. Happened to me years ago. I’d won the auction but never got the pay option. Seller contacted me asking if I was ever going to pay in a polite way and we both had to contact eBay to resolve the issue. Seller had to end up relisting but with the buy it now option at the price I’d won it for so I bought it that way. Last night I was watching a copy of marvel premiere 15 that ended somewhere around $90 with no reserve and 21 bids. Item ended up being relisted the same way at 99 cents so not sure if it was the seller’s doing or a glitch
  9. Good to know. Luckily (?) I’m not trying to find anything dating back to the 30s or 40s just yet. I can’t imagine how few of those pieces still exist. I think I’ll start with one or two from the 60s although I did place an ad in the wtb section for a 50s horror book but it may be too obscure...dipping my toe in the pond before setting the whole foot
  10. Dollman #36, Suspense #10 and Green Hornet #40 per pm
  11. Me too. Was something I did with old mego super heroes and micro autos
  12. You, sir, have inspired me to give this a try with one or two books that I'd love to have in my collection but am not in a hurry to drop huge sums on (yet). I couldn’t imagine how much time it would take but being retired, I literally have nothing better to do so devoting a little time to a quest I may never complete sounds like a task worth starting.
  13. After collecting for 40+ years, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to restart for all kinds of reasons but the love for the medium never left. Things happen that are unforeseeable.
  14. Nope and no triple 6s or pentagrams tattooed to him either on a lighter note, here’s a drawing of the Werewolf by Night that I did while watching the Benicio DelToro Wolfman
  15. Playing with an idea that’s been bouncing around in my noggin for a couple of days now. Might even start developing a story for it. I call it, “the HELLBORN”: innocent my @$$
  16. Gotcha. That makes sense since getting too involved with an older book that could crumble to dust was something I hadn’t factored in to it.
  17. Interesting. I would think replacing the entire wrap would help the overall appearance of the book and be less intrusive than just attaching the new page to an existing one. In the end, they’re both considered restored with a married page but I think one is more obvious than the other and the wrap might even be overlooked if it lines up properly. I don’t collect incomplete books either so this would be a way of educating myself a little on the subject
  18. A small tear isn’t an automatic .5 grade the overall grading would depend on the accumulation of flaws and possible cut outs of coupons, panels and/or other factors, detached covers, etc to receive a grade that low
  19. I go by the appearance of the book. I see high grade books with horrendous centering and miscut wraps that are just eyesores to me and then I’ve seen mid grade books that still have enough of a sheen and minor imperfections that give it that personality. After all, it is a visual medium isn’t it?
