  1. Even if it was a bad thing, that's a huge compliment. Thanks
  2. Thank you, oakman. I feel I've still got a long way to go. Here's another Spidey I did last night
  3. ok, let's move on.... This is "Steel Butterfly (as if there aren't enough McFarlane swipes of this pose)
  4. I'm a big fan of martial arts movies so here's a character I created called "Jade Blade" striking a pose
  5. Frazetta and Neal Adams come to mind for their book covers and movie posters....Vallejo might be in there too
  6. This is a good example of the presser assuming the staples and the spine should be in the same place. In alot of silver age books, this is not the case and the presser actually created spine roll. Just flattened it out. @mosconi It's more a smell that isn't there in non-pressed books if that makes any sense and the smell is similar to a scorched garment that the iron was left in one spot too long
  7. ink transfer from pages to the interior of the front and back covers, smell of cooked pulp, stiff pages can be telltale signs of pressing but not in all cases
  8. I was wondering if this was still a htf book in high grade. May pull mine out for opinions too.
  9. Found out through etanick's youtube channel...shocked; completely caught off guard. The recent thread about him retiring looked like he was improving and I'd hoped he would have enough time to enjoy his retirement and get to spend more quality time with friends and family as I'm sure they would have too. May you rest in everlasting peace, Mr. Wrightson. A huge talent has been lost by the community but your amazing work will live on forever.
  10. Letgo and gemr are phone apps for buying and selling. I found out about letgo when they started running tv ads in my area about a year ago. Gemr is geared towards collectors of comics, toys, etc. Someone had mentioned them on instagram so I took a look but other than people "liking" some of my books, I haven't made any sales.
  11. Made a few sales and met a couple of cool, fellow collectors; have also gotten the time wasting lowballers that don't read the ad. Would like to know of other people's experiences with the other options available besides ebay.
  12. I think Spidey's popularity continues to rise making that book a solid investment but it would depend on the final price; both of those books are going to be harder to obtain in those grades as time goes by
  13. pretty gnarly cover; I don't remember seeing anything that graphic without a warning label
  14. When I saw X-Men: Apocalypse and they revealed the Weapon X/Wolverine sub plot it made me hang around until after the credits just in case....I'd have lost my mind if they'd have gone back to Wolvie running in the snow and the Hulk dropped out of the sky. That would've been the greatest x-over ever!
