Sold for $54,223 USD + shipping
Shows for about 60k in USD, 80k in CAN.

Sold to a well known comic dealer in Colorado. More than doubled my $$. So much for that.

So if something happens at the bank and your books are "lost" you don't have any photos?
I have them on a USB drive. Along with the appraisals.

All I get when I click on these links is "That page doesn't exist."
My account went over the bandwidth limit.

If books go missing from a safe deposit box/bank vault, you can basically kiss them goodbye.

I have a bank vault safe policy. Insurance at my house is over 4k a year. The premium rates are crazy, and I've never had an insurance claim ever.

I can hook you up with a Universal copy of Archie 1 CGC 3.0 if you're ever interested. Not me but I know a seller that should have a couple copies.
Where were you in 2013 when I bought this one? If it's fair priced, I'd be interested. I'd then unload this one if I had one of those.

Has the fact that CGC WONT grade IGB resto books changed? Not sure what was done to your book but attempting to remove the resto may leave you with a pile of dust. Have no way to value it but I know (as someone who would like to own an Archie 1) that it holds little value to me.
No doubt. I wasn't selling, just trying to gauge a value to update. I already two independent appraisals on the collection, one from Heritage, on from an appraisal company in Manhattan. Heritage, Metro or Comic Link didn't see an issue with the Archie restore and gave me estimates on the sales for the collection. Archie 1 will always hold a place in my heart for me. I guess similarly to Elvis to Gotham Kid. Messed up to compare the card to any of my comics. Its all good though.

Here’s an 8.0 restored (much less resto) that sold for $10k in 2013. I think the Cbcs 9.2 with Very extensive resto would go for around $15k - $20K.
Paid 20k for it. Would think higher than that.

Personally I wouldn't. I would auction it off and hope for the best. But don't get your hopes up too high.
IGB + CBCS = pass.
Sorry for being blunt.
Would it be worth sending to CGC for grading?

Your Superman1 and Batman1 will fare much better.
Are they also Ext restored or Slight/Mod ?

yes, absolutely.
Should I see if the restoration can be removed?

CBCS or CGC graded ?
If you can link scans that would be awesome
Can't tell you much on the Archie1. Don't really follow that market but guessing would sell for the whereabouts of a 3.0 Universal copy.
CGC. Only bought the CBCS Archie as it's the highest grade and it's always been a key for me.

Does that equal frankenbook?
I do not see how. ComicLink figures it can bring between 55k - 72k.

That is an IGB copy
IGB?

and will those be for sale as well ? also restored ?
All restored, Batman is the third highest grade. Superman is only a 7 though. DC #1 is a 5.5. Heritage says the Batman, Archie and DC # 1 are really nice and could grade higher. Since they screwed me on an auction in the Summer, they've been X'd from any comic sales. Talking to Metropolis and Comic Link.

I had an online scan when I sent it for an appraisal. Yea, I have them all online. My bank has a climate controlled vault, so due to the values, I moved all my valuable comics to the CC vault. The insurance premiums were just too high.

scan ? would love to see it.
It's in a climate controlled vault along with my Superman, Batman and DC 1 comics.

I am trying to figure out the value of my restored Archie # 1 CBCS 9.2 I purchased several years ago. Any suggestions on how to value correctly?

Whoever told you that encapsulation would protect from the rusting staple issue found in certain “fire proof” safes was wrong. Keep your comics out of those things. Similarly, the slabs are not meant for archival storage nor do they protect from heat or water submersion. One might get lucky but why take the risk?
Not sure why a CGC rep would say that to me. Where would place a comics worth around 1m when the insurance company requires this? Open to options.

Would these be the same comics mentioned here?
Or here?
Nope. The 500+ comic lot I've just not really gone through as much. I've kept them bagged and boarded in long boxes in my comic room. I just decided to take pics of them last week. I'm going to either sell them off in singles or in bunches. I have a few people interested in some keys from My Comic Shop and other online places. We'll see what happens. I generally do not sell off my slabbed comics.

1st off - congrats on the huge windfall! I don't know how old you are but if you are over 65 I'd make sure your will is up to date and it may be time to start taking the tax hit rather then leave it up to your family to sell and figure it all out. I'd recommend contacting a tax pro and then ComicLink or ConnicConnect based on what they say. Maybe you could sell off $50K in books each year and keep your tax hit down some. Good luck with your choices and it's a problem I would love to have.
Still have a few decades to hit 65, but certainly a consideration some day. I didn't buy them for investments, just comics that I've always enjoyed and wanted to own. I am still shocked at the values. I was going to put them in my office to display, but my insurance company said nope. Sucks they have to be kept away from view. Sigh.

Horrible. I will never use them again. I sold some other collectibles through them and they botched the whole auction up. I wouldn't sell a Bazooka wrapper through those clowns. If you have high value comics, check out Metropolis, Mile High or Doug Schmell @ Pedigree Comics.
Let's just say more than was estimated by some posters here.
