  1. Start stock piling Hulk 180...it's the poor man's 181, much like people are going for ASM 1 instead of AF 15
  2. I don't like it. it's the same o'l same thing I've see a thousand times over from Jim Lee
  3. Rather than coming up with new characters because of creator money issues if anything was to ever take off, they are just morphing 2 characters into one, usually a villian or female character, no new dudes will be created so no one ends up being the next Jack Kirby
  4. ASM 200-328 I do think as these get older, they will start to creep up in value, The 316 cover could very well turn into the next Batman 251
  5. And for $45,000 you can own the original !
  6. Just picked this up...Didn't see the pencil writing when i bought it but I can live it. These 13's are getting tougher to find.
  7. Too much pressure and the spine will split. I don't bother with signatures, I don't see their appeal and I hate the yellow colored label. Make Mine Blue!
  8. It's all undervalued until it gets turned into a TV Show/Movie then it becomes a "Key Investment"
  9. I hear ya, seems like everyone on the boards is rich
  10. If they would laugh at you because you collect comics then find some new friends
  11. Yes but 99% of the people in the FB groups share bad techniques, It's all bad advice. I've called someone out who just started pressing his books a month and then goes on to try and teach someone else. Needless to say people flipped out, so I said "It's like a teenager who had his driving license a month and is now trying to teach someone else how to drive" Pressing isn't about turning it on, stick a comic in and suddenly you are open for business. You have to look at the book and determine what needs to be done and how you are going to tackle those defects. Not everything comes out and you might even still be able to see some of those defects still present under the light even though it appears smooth.
  12. After the ink is applied to the sheet of paper, it goes into a heatset oven to dry the ink, if the oven temp is too hot, the paper being run through (usually coated walking dead type of stock) will cause the paper to blister and create bubbles
  13. We've all done it. I sold my 9.4 over 10 years ago and never replaced it. Now I have 3 copies (9.2, 7.5, 7.0) to make myself feel better
  14. There's a lot of bad info being thrown around, especially on Facebook pressing groups. People think using a t shirt heat press is the way to go cause they got it cheap off of ebay/Amazon are just fooling themselves. I saw a guy on youtube teaching people how to get rid of spine ticks on a book. he placed a piece of the wrong kind of SRP on the book's edge and ran a clothes iron over the book and stuffed backing boards under the cover...Gee, I wonder if that's how Joey does it??? I just shake my head in disbelief.
  15. Registration is so far out, I'm sure they had to slip the plate cylinders
  16. Stay away from ASM 14, I had a 9.4 over 10 years ago and the price hasn't moved, it's a common book. Don't bother with early JLAs since the movie was terrible and Avengers 1 is another common book that seems to be everywhere. Stick with early FFs 1-20 and Spidey 1-7, 11-13, 15.
  17. I'd pick up... Pre Robin Detective or All Star 8 Hulk 1 Hulk 181 9.8 Low grade AF 15 or the highest graded ASM 1 if there's enough $$ left over.
  18. Modern Prescreen Verified 2/9/18 3/27/18 Scheduled for Grading
  19. I got tired of the high prices and long turnaround times from CCS, so I learned how to do it myself. Couldn't be happier.
